1/25 AMT 1970.5 Camaro Z28 - Full Bumper
Rob Hall replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
And leave off the rear spoiler and sport mirrors. I kind of want to do one like this, using the wheel covers from the '70 Impala and a resin 250 6. -
Their 1/18th Catalina convertible came w 8 lug wheels. The dog dish hubcaps made sense on the 421SD ht as that was a base trim performance model. I also have one of the ERTL 1/18 '62 Catalina 421SD hardtops somewhere boxed up, it has the steel wheels without hubcaps. Kind of a medium blue.

I bought the resin conversion parts for this maybe 15 years ago..still haven't used them.

I'm no ballerina...my attempts at snowboarding and skiing in my 20s-30s proved to me I'm not the most balanced...

Thanks for posting, great pics. It was a great show, really enjoyed it. The ACD Museum is on my to-do list.

Just cell phone photos taken from a distance... I try and not to get in too close to take closeups, plus in the back of my mind I have the fear (irrational?) of leaning in too far and stumbling and falling and wiping out a row of models...

Yes, it has an engine. I wonder if it's going to be molded in color this time. I do wonder how they are going to the new front for the Camaro..I'd assume a new body and front bumper, grille, parking lights, etc.

Revell doesn't have a '70. This is the modern tooling AMT '70, which has always had an RS nose in Z/28 and Baldwin Motion versions...this is a modified reissue now w/ the standard nose. The '65 Coronet is a rebox of the Polar Lights kit from about 15 years ago.

It appeared to be a custom early 70s Pinto....I believe it may be a re-issue of the AMT Pinto coupe w/ custom parts that was called the 'Pintera'... that photo reminds me of this photo I found of the Pintera box side....

Really enjoyed the event. Glad I could make it for the finale. Thanks for sharing..I took a bunch of pics, but I always seem to take from too far away..

Before the end of the year is what I heard.

Yeah, a quick cell phone pic in a crowded room.

What did you see on the road today?
Rob Hall replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It does look like a 25th anniversary Countach (white one below)..they had the big bumper in the US. The yellow one has the door window moldings painted yellow, and the front air dam black, which differ from the photos I've seen.. -
Got a few items at the Toledo Toy & Model Fair today---the Motor City Resin '60 Ford Town Sedan and Ford Fairlane 4dr sedan, several of Steve Zimmerman's sweet wheel & tire sets for future builds, and a restorable '69 Johan Cadillac Coupe de Ville..chrome is good, missing one wheel and tire and one taillight lens, got a chunk missing out of the rear quarter that is repairable.

Saw an eclectic mix of vehicles on Hwy 23 in Michigan south of Ann Arbor--going northbound in about 5 min I saw a white Lexus LF-A, a yellow Lexus LC, and a new Supra in bright red. On the Ohio Turnpike saw a car hauler with 4 new green Buillitt Mustangs and other new Mustang GTs incl. a red convertible. Saw a dark green w/ white bumpers and grille '57 Ford F100 style side in good shape on another car hauler. -
Saw this at the NNL Nationals 40th today at the Round 2 table... incl. the box art for the upcoming '70 Camaro Z/28 w/ new front parts for the full width bumper variation. The Round 2 fellow said likely 1st quarter 2020.

Nice to see more realistic wheel sizes...15 inch seems pretty tiny and outdated, compared to street cars...after all, NASCAR uses the names and branding of street cars on their race cars, and in the real world, Mustangs, Camaros and Camrys have 17, 18 inch and larger wheels these days..larger wheels allow for larger brakes, which is a good thing. It's not a vintage racing/nostalgia series...

Model car related abbreviation?
Rob Hall replied to 426 pack's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Also seen as part of 'IRL' (in real life). Not to be confused with IRL-Indy Racing League, though if I say "I've been to IRL races IRL' that is a true statement...;)
