Revell Germany Landrover series III? false alarm
Rob Hall replied to Luc Janssens's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
It would be nice to see someone tool up a Defender in 1/24th. Lots of neat variations in the 1:1 over it's long run... -
I was in Walgreens last night and they had the laundry detergent pod packages locked up in alarmed clear plastic boxes. The cashier had to use a special key to open them. Locked up to keep people from eating them?
-
Or use one of the resin cabs..there are some out there.
-
I wouldn't try combining the 1/24th snowplow kit w/ the 1/25th Deserter..
-
It's a Monogram-origin kit, not Revell. Revell's 1/25th GMC of the same era (last seen as a blue tow truck) has it's own problems--the molded in engine lump, roof plug, etc..
-
They've done a couple '72 Gran Torinos in 1/43rd, wouldn't surprise me if they do one eventually in 1/24th.
-
Never had the High Roller version...so basically the same GMC pickup as is out now w/ the snow plow, but without the snow plow and bigger tires, different suspension, maybe a few other different parts?

Aftermarket Pro-touring parts???
Rob Hall replied to Tim H's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Just a couple vendors I've done business with and like their parts...Clearly Scale has a variety of engines, seats, wheels and tires applicable to the PT genre, as does C1 Models has a variety of wheels, tires, body kits..there are many others out there also. http://www.clearlyscale.com http://www.c1-models.com -
Bizzare weather here in Cleveland...warmed up over the last 24 hrs, all the snow melted, 61F right now and windy. Wind kept knocking over my wheely bins at the curb (trash day). Supposed to drop off sharply tomorrow with freezing rain, sleet, and snow into Saturday with highs dropping back to single digits....

Yep, got all that also. Though I don't use the remote start much since I have a garage. Not a heated garage, though. 57F today, going to change drastically in 24 hours though.

It's funny...I had posted that, then thought about it a bit more.. oh well, we live in interesting times, right? -

Ouch! Yeah, I had updated my comment right after posting, I'm sure it's Round 2. -
Hobbico - BANKRUPT!
Rob Hall replied to niteowl7710's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
True..their regular prices are no better than anyone else. Many of the upcoming AMT reissues are listed at $29.99...a bit stiff for a reissue. Though to be fair, Round 2 is probably raising prices.. -

The free shipping always makes it a good deal for me for kits, vs. buying from Model Roundup or another online vendor. With the free shipping and a $10 promotional discount I got 3 of the new Cutlasses for about $20 each. -

Yeah, I buy a lot from Tower Hobbies..very quick turnaround...I think I get them shipped from an Illinois location, get them in 3 days usually. -
True, maybe the 'new' Browns inherited the grudge along w/ their historical record, etc..
-
Seems really weird to think of Pirelli tires in a Hot Rod kit.
-
Some kits do have undersized wheels and tires...Revell in particular known for it..like the C6 Corvette ZR-1--the wheels and tires were way undersized. The recent early 70s Ford Bronco has undersized wheels. The '83 and '85 Old Cutlasses have undersized tires, esp. for the FE3-X version. Many of their Revell of Germany models as well....

I know! But we managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Yeah, been less severe here in the Cleveland area..have maybe 6 inches in my yard.
-
Been 'warming' up yesterday and today (mid 30s today) after the deep freeze...supposed to be in the 50s Thursday..all the snow will melt in my yard...then ice and snow Fri and the weekend.. :(

Given Belichick's history with the Browns, I'm not surprised how that turned out..
