What predictions can we make for new kit releases in 2017?
Rob Hall replied to GMP440's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
...and on the Heller website they show it coming as a 4th quarter 2015 release...(they need to update that a bit). -
I recall snacking on pizza slices from street vendors in Rome and Naples when I went there on vacation. Love the food in Italy.
-
I could see eating pizza w a knife and fork in a more formal dining context. I've had to do it out of necessity before, when eating pizza that has had structural integrity failure of the crust.
-
I'd call it a slice of pizza, and A. fold it up and eat. Looks like the slices of pizza from the local greasy pizza place next to my office in Scottsdale (Joe's New York Pizza).

Yes...retro style packaging similar to the '69 El Camino 'soap box derby' kit. There is some info about iit here http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/115088-round2-july-2016-announcements/#comment-1661810 -
The xeriscaping is definitely catching on, esp. it seems out in the burbs and in newer subdivisions. Older neighborhoods in Phoenix like where I'm at are still predominantly green lawns and palm trees, but it's changing. I'm working on moving out of AZ in the next year back to the Midwest or North East.

It's been challenging keeping mine green this summer...been drier than usual--- monsoon season has been a bust so far....run my sprinklers at night and do some additional hose watering on drier patches.

When did color fall out of favor?

Ford, Jeep, Toyota/Lexus, and Kia have some sweet metallic browns, oranges and greens in recent years. -
Round2 August Announcements Video
Rob Hall replied to Exotics_Builder's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Probably Tom Lowe's (owner of Round 2) cars...I haven't heard anything about them 'struggling for survival'...they seem to be doing quite with w/ their model reissues, multiple diecast lines, slot cars, etc. -
I've heard that phrase when when I lived in NE Ohio and in Colorado. By the way, where is 'We-Go'?

Of the older bands, I like Cream, The Who, Free, Deep Purple, The Kinks, The Yardbirds, Traffic, Bad Company to name a few.. (and of course, The Stones, Pink Floyd (perhaps my all time favourite British band), Led Zep...never was into the Beatles very much). Of the 70s-80s---bands of my youth in the 80s--I like/liked The Jam, New Order, Depeche Mode, The Cure, The Police, Def Leppard and Whitesnake quite a bit... I like lots of British solo artists of that era also. Of the last 20 years, I like Oasis and The Verve quite a bit...

History of Monogram's Dodge Ramcharger
Rob Hall replied to Fabrux's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
According to Wikipedia-- In 1986, Monogram was bought by Odyssey Partners of New York. Later that same summer, Odyssey purchased Revell Models of Venice, California. Subsequently Odyssey Partners merged Revell with Monogram and moved all its usable assets to Monogram's Des Plaines, Illinois Plant Number 2.[citation needed]After Revell was merged with Monogram, company headquarters was moved a short distance to Northbrook, Illinois. -
1980-1990 Chevrolet Caprice model
Rob Hall replied to matador88's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Shouldn't be that difficult..not much curvature. I've made windshields out of sheets of clear plastic, from random stuff like electronics packaging, etc. -

The windows shouldn't be too hard to make from sheet plastic, though...the rear and side windows are pretty flat. -

Headlights seem a bit too short vertically. But it would be a good starting place to swap in headlights from something else to do an 86. -
Why are 1/43 Scale Models so Pricey
Rob Hall replied to Skip's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I thought this thread was about 1/43rd kits, not crazed rants about 1/64th diecast. -

There is apparently missing tire tooling with the 62 Mopars. -
Why are 1/43 Scale Models so Pricey
Rob Hall replied to Skip's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Some people just have no concept of the cost of doing business, I guess. Or they are stuck in 1960 pricing (or whenever their happy place was). -
Why are 1/43 Scale Models so Pricey
Rob Hall replied to Skip's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Most are very limited production and hand made...not mass produced. They have (at least in the US) a small , dedicated fan base. As far as preassembled 1/43rd diecast, there are some decent cheap ones out there, such as those from Greenlight. -

Their snap Chevelle seems pretty accurate as far as the body goes......
