  1. I never had an issue w/ the engine in the DB2, since so little is actually seen when finished. As for uptops, I like them when included so I can display them top up sometimes (I wouldn't glue on an uptop). But when not included, no big deal..
  2. 5th gen was on the Zeta platform, shared w/ the Holden Commodore/Pontiac G8/Chevy SS/Caprice... 6th gen is on the Alpha platform w/ the Cadillac ATS and 3rd gen CTS. The dimensions differ as well, the new car has an approx 2 inch shorter wheelbase and 2 inch shorter body. Slightly narrower and lighter also...
  3. There are people in FB modeling groups claiming the new 6th gen kit is derived from this one, which I find highly unlikely, considering the differences between the concept, the production 5th gen and the 6th gen car..
  4. Lots of casinos around here, not my thing...find them too noisy and too much smoking smell. I've been to one local one a few times for corporate events and concerts and it does have some decent restaurants, though.
  5. The box argument makes sense..that kit is pretty stuffed in the box in either version IIRC. The differences between the two versions were tires and wheels, maybe some engine and suspension parts also?
  6. True...and there so many types of curries... the German ketchup type, Japanese curries, Thai curries, the various Indian ones, etc. Some of the spiciest/hottest curry I've ever had was a homemade Sri Lankan curry made by a Sri Lankan friend of mine.
  7. Probably couldn't justify the ROI...plus they can run two different kits by keeping them separate.
  8. The seller lowered the BIN price on that Starfire from $300 to $165...
  9. I've had mushy peas whilst in the UK on holiday before...it's interesting. The curry sauce described above sounds like the ketchup-like product I've had with fries in German restaurants or with currywurst. Love it.
  10. It looks like they are doing both red and silver versions. Either 2 versions of the snap kit, or the red is a PP version of the full detail kit.
  11. I like Williams...was up there last month...went up and stayed in Flagstaff for a few days and did some sightseeing. The Rt 66 gift shops are neat, and lots of old cars around.
  12. Looks good...nice to see Round 2 getting serious about new tooling again. I hope it's not a one-off and that it's the start of something good from them.
  13. the red one is a recent reissue and the black one is from probably 15 years ago.
  14. I have a Johan Superbird molded in that bright green..
  15. The one in black was the only one that built stock IIRC.
  16. I think '74 was the last year for the small window. I'd like to see a '77 Z-28..those looked good in brown.
  17. I might pay that much for an original mint unbuilt Johan '60 Olds ht, though...I have the '59, and the '60-63 kits in my stash.
  18. If it were mint unbuilt, I could see it near that price perhaps...but this one has the custom crud glued to it, and the '63 Olds has been reissued...
  19. Of course, not all Millenials fit that stereotype.. Some are doing useful things like building companies, like Mark Zuckerberg.
  20. the crabby old man stereotype is very strong among modelers, and strongly present on MCM, because of the hobby demographics, I guess. I'm a Gen-Xer also (46) and am no fan of Millenials in general (though I've worked with a few that were quite good at their jobs and became friends of mine), I try and avoid dumping on them lest I sound like a grumpy old man.
  21. I wonder if Mary Kay is still using pink Cadillacs for their sales folks. Most recent pink Cadillac I've seen was a DTS from about 10 years ago.
  22. Sweet Supra...haven't seen one of those kits built up in..forever.
