  1. Mopar does have some very interesting colors in recent years. I've been checking out the choices on the Jeep website model configurators...
  2. In Oceanside, I like the Flying Pig Pub for their pork burger. Local Tap House and Kitchen is good also. Breakfast Club Diner is a great breakfast place. I like Enzo's BBQ Ale House--great BBQ. There are also tons of excellent Asian places (Thai, Vietnamese etc) that I like (not sure if you are into Asian cuisine). If you like seafood, about 20 miles down the coast in Del Mar is one of my favorite seafood places period-- Poseidon.
  3. Of course you could do at as the late 80s Roadhog GT, which was monochromatic w/ no chrome trim.
  4. The Revell '56 Chevy with opening doors, etc was my first glue kit...1977, the 'Bad Dream' kit, age 7...still have it in all it's glue bomb glory...
  5. Looking forward to the Bronco, Charger and C7R.
  6. The 1:1 2drs were only offered 2 years (80-81) while the 4dr ran 80-89 for that generation....1:1 2drs of that generation are a pretty rare sight today...neat build of an obscure car.
  7. Modeling is still quite cheap compared to sports hobbies I've dabbled in over the years such as golf, skiing, and snowboarding... or 1:1 car collecting for that matter. Or other occasional recreational events I enjoy such as concerts, NFL games, etc.
  8. The Heller site shows it is coming as a 4th quarter 2015 release..
  9. The 2016 has superior cupholders, though...lighted, chilled and heated.
  10. Yeah, I recently got 3 Revell kits from Tower Hobbies for about $15 each with the free shipping and a $10 off coupon..
  11. Been a bit cooler this week in Phoenix with the storms. And my pool is nice and clean again, all the storm debris cleaned up. Spent an hour in last night, hopefully more over the weekend.
  12. I suppose one could kitbash the Melrose Missile kit with the Belvedere kit and use aftermarket decals to get a similar result..
  13. I was planning on using the Revell '56, it has taillights that are more like the '67-72. The '53 has tiny round taillights.
  14. We have lots of the 'O's here in Phoenix...usually always yellow and red signage. Rolberto's, Filiberto's, Isloberto's.. they usually have great breakfast burritos.I think of Taco Bell and Del Taco as authentic imitation Mexican (Taco Bell was a staple of college life in Ohio and Michigan for me). But when I want good Mexican food, we have many excellent local Mexican Mom and Pop sit down restaurants around here. One So Cal Mexican chain that I like from visits to So Cal is King Taco...
  15. Looks like a Morgan badge on the nose. I think that is one of the new ones.
  16. I've had mostly dark metallic colored cars over the years (dark gray, dark blue, burgundy), with a one pearl white car, a couple silver cars, one bright red one, and one two tone (gold & brown). I'm thinking i'd like something dark brown or dark red in my next car. Preferably with a lighter interior. I love greens, esp. dark ones, but there seems to be very little going on in green currently.
  17. I had two recalls to deal with last year, both on 15 year old cars..the rear bumper/hitch one on the Grand Cherokee, and the ignition one on the DTS... a couple dealer trips, no big deal.
  18. I don't think those are factory stock interiors, looks like aftermarket crud on 10-15 yr old cars.
  19. considering it's an obscure model from 60 years ago, it's not that big of a deal.
  20. Who knows...maybe they couldn't make a business case for the investment...or maybe they are planning on reissuing the modern tool Ala-Kart..
  21. Actually, the Mini was just redesigned for the 2014 model year, so it's newer than the 500 which dates to 2007.
  22. I think I've eaten at one of their locations in Chicago back in the late 90s..
  23. When my sister was car shopping last year, I went with her and test drove the 500 and 500L...she wasn't impressed by the Consumer Reports reviews, ended up getting a Chevy Trax. She's happy with it, though I think Fiats had more interesting interior designs.
  24. Mmm...looks tasty. A Chicago-style pizza place recently opened near me here in Phoenix, Lou Malnati's. Got to check them out..
