  1. Looking forward to this one...I ordered mine along w/ the Talbot Lago race car from Heller's site a few days ago. I've ordered from them direct before w/ no problems (got the Citroen HY van and Mehari last year).
  2. You would need to also swap the windshield and a-pillars. '60-63 Chevy trucks had the wrap-around windshield that the '64-66 did not.
  3. Looking forward to the RX-7, never had those kits.. also looking forward to the 'Burban, lots of possibilities w/ that one.
  4. Saw a clean '63 Suburban (teal an white) at the grocery the other evening...had GMC hubcaps but a Chevy grille. This afternoon in traffic, saw a clean red '65 Mercury Comet 2dr ht w/ the license plate '65COMET', a red Porsche 356 cabriolet w/ the top down, and a very clean silver blue early '80s Olds Delta 88 4dr (rare to see one of these so clean and stock).
  5. It just came on the radar around here yesterday w/ the Revell 2017 1st quarter releases, more info here
  6. Makes sense they would do it 2wd--their existing '64-66 Chevy pickup tooling is 2wd, and unlike today, very few Suburbans back then were 4x4. Glad it is stock...
  7. Nice build..some great weathering. Speaking of Star Wars vehicles, I really liked Rey's speeder bike...something about the front and shape reminded me of an old tractor.
  8. Sharp...I like the 6 and the weathering.
  9. I've read all the books, enjoyed them...but haven't seen the movies...I usually like Tom Cruise movies (his best later period role was in Collateral, IMO), but he just doesn't fit the physical description of the character...(Reacher is supposed to be like 6'4" or so?). And the character rarely ever drives unless he has to.
  10. Same way the Mustang LX with the innacurate roof, the '67 Camaro with multiple problems, and many other seriously flawed kits got through to production in recent years.. Perhaps a mix of incompetence, indifference, ignorance, and the attitude that mediocre is 'good enough' for 'toys' ?....it certainly seems that Revell doesn't take their customers or product as seriously as the leaders in the hobby do. As far as the C7R, the biggest issue IMO isn't the brakes, but that it's the wrong scale. For an endurance series racing car, it should be 1/24th as it does compete at the international level of motorsport.
  11. A simple build to move forward with when stuck on other builds...
  12. The other thread has plenty of photos of what's in the box...already been covered weeks ago, see pages 3- 4 of that thread...
  13. it's been covered in a long thread.. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/116134-a-reasonably-serious-new-tool-70-charger-revell-is-hiding-in-plain-sight/
  14. Hmm...looks like just older issues, nothing new. No Ollies here, but I'll likely be near one eventually.
  15. In past moves, I've put the built models in their original boxes, either wrapped in bubble wrap or lots of tissues..then 10-12 kit boxes per moving box, w/ some bubble wrap in the empty spots... I actually mailed about 100 built kits to myself from Ohio to Colorado back in 1999 via USPS with no loss or damage. Now I plan to ship them back from Colorado to Ohio soon along w/ unbuilts from Colorado and Arizona.
  16. Got the MPC 'Squad Rod' '79 Nova reissue today...never had the original of this one.
  17. Neat kit...is this the same tooling that has been released by Revell of Germany in various forms over the years? I'd like to see a modern AMG version tooled up..
  18. This is a UK spec trailer, I believe..needs something UK market..
  19. Got mine today...looks good at first glance.
  20. Understandable, the stock 'bowing ball' wheels are pretty ugly...the spoked custom wheels are nicer.
  21. The Revell kit definitely had an engine, I remember building it over 35 years ago. NIce kit, built it along w/ the Ferrari 308 GTB. I think it's in my childhood bedroom closet in Ohio.
  22. Got the 3 recent Round 2 Mopar race car kits...'64 Petty Belvedere, '64 Lawman Belvedere, and Duster oval track racer.
  23. I have one of the new kits...glad I got it when I did, I hear that distributors are out of stock on it and it may be a long wait until they have more...
  24. Ah, yeah..I remember that now... it looks like this one has some different parts and different box art.
  25. The two Lindberg boats look interesting...what scale are they?
