Revell Visit to November GTR meeting test shots
Rob Hall replied to Exotics_Builder's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Looking forward to both. Interesting how the rear doors are a separate insert on the Suburban. Maybe to facilitatw making a tailgate w/ single rear window version? -
Ford Transit mk2.
Rob Hall replied to belfast boyo's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Neat van...looking forward to getting one..supposed to be out mid-November in the US...Tower Hobbies has them for pre order. -
Though I was rooting for the Indians, congrats to the Cubs and their fans! 108 years is a looong drought. That final game was a great one.

They standardized their box size a while back, I think...I noticed that also. -

AMT '77 Pacer Wagon - a new loser out of box!
Rob Hall replied to Faust's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I'd love to see a '77-79 Impala or Caprice in 1/25th...love those cars. -
Lindberg 1971 Mustang
Rob Hall replied to WizPorsche944's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
It's an old Palmer kit originally, like the '72 Challenger and Corvette that Lindberg also reissued. The body is wonky,, like a '69-70 fastback w/ 71 front clip.. -
Another Social Security phone scam
Rob Hall replied to Ace-Garageguy's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I never answer my phone (cell or land line) if I don't recognize the number...let it go to voice mail and call back if it's legit. And I have my cell set up to go to voice mail automatically between 7pm and 7am, no ringing. I have the land line ringer off currently since during this season all the calls are political polls and robocalls. -
I got one last week, the only difference from the previous issues that I see are the optional mag wheels. Box art is much better as compared to the awful Lindberg donut boxes. A pair of slicks are included also, presumably left over from the drag version.

HOBOY! HOT NEWS! 1974 Dodge Monaco Police Cars Coming!!!!
Rob Hall replied to Danno's topic in Diecast Corner
The tires do look a bit small... something in bigger diameter/taller would look better. Thinking of getting another one and stripping the paint and doing it some other style, either a stock plain jane sedan or as a beater... -
HOBOY! HOT NEWS! 1974 Dodge Monaco Police Cars Coming!!!!
Rob Hall replied to Danno's topic in Diecast Corner
i was thinking the same for mine, but Fireball 1/24th wheels since these are 1/24th diecasts. I was dissapointed by the painted bumpers also, and the front bumper seems undersized to me. -
WoooooHoooo! How About a '66 SUBURBAN !?!?!!!
Rob Hall replied to Danno's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Yes, this is correct about the short wheelbase. '60-66 Suburbans had the 115 inch wheelbase, same as the SWB pickups of that generation. This question was answered in the other thread, IIRC....easily found if you google it. 5th gen Suburban -

I ordered a couple of them from Tower Hobbies today also... will be interesting to see what the aftermarket comes up with for the Bronco.

Meh..too many repeats of recent reissues like the '70 Super Bee, '60 Starliner, '51 Chevy conv...though the 50th anniv. Camaro will be a nice variation.

Got the AMT rebox of the Lindberg '61 Impala along w/ a couple AMT white letter tire sets from Model Roundup today, along w/ an Aoshima Nissan President kit from an eBay seller in Hong Kong.

Reading Bruce Springsteen's autobiography 'Born to Run' now, just finished John Sandford's 'Escape Clause' (a Virgil Flowers Minnesota crime thriller), and just started John Grisham's 'The Whistler'. I try and read an hour or so before going to bed on my Kindle every evening...relaxes my mind.

It's a reissue of the Lindberg '61 Impala with new optional wheels added and new AMT box art. There is no Lindberg '61 Bel Air.

Tamiya Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 (UPDATE:UNDER GLASS 11-4-16)
Rob Hall replied to lghtngyello03's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Looking good..neat build. Mitsubishi used to build some fun cars...had a coworker back around 2002 that had a 3000GT Spyder w/ the folding roof...that was a fun car. -
Undersized wheels on a Revell kit? I'm shocked, I say shocked...

AMT '77 Pacer Wagon - a new loser out of box!
Rob Hall replied to Faust's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I have a couple MPC Pacers, never had the AMT wagon..thinking about doing one stock and one as a phantom panel wagon w/ no rear seat, steelies, and the side window blanks. -
I would think the track would be considerably narrower on the Bronco..those 1st gen Broncos were tiny. I'll have to compare the parts once I get a Bronco kit.
-
I would assume the engine is a 302 since this is an early 70s version.

Ferguson Tractor from Heller
Rob Hall replied to carsntrucks4you's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Four trees of gray parts in the bag. 6 tires--4 small and two large. Small sheet of decals, and an instruction booklet. My weekend began at 11:30am (got to 40 hours), went to lunch, took a nap, watching F1 practice and chilling now...;)
