  1. It must have been somewhere in the 70s...I built the '78 Indy Pace Car version and IIRC it didn't have the working suspension...but I may be wrong. I have the 1/20th '73, it has it also..neat detail.
  2. Reminds me, I did once see an '81-82 Dodge Magnum (Diplomat coupe) in San Diego..
  3. Yeah, I see all sorts of unusual Mexico-plated vehicles here in Phoenix...Mexican late 90s Dodge Ramchargers, Chevy Chevys, unusual VW models, Chevy Sonoras (Tahoe rebadge), 2nd gen Lincoln Mark LTs, Ford Lobos (F150 rebadge), Dodge-badged Hyundais, etc...
  4. The kit does represent a stock version. About the only non-stock parts are the tires which aren't correct for 1983.
  5. Yeah, they are pretty nice IIRC. I have most of the MPC '73-82 annuals in my stash..
  6. There was a '75 convertible in 1:1, MPC previously issued this kit as a '76, of which there was no 1:1 convertible. But the '74 offered the 454, and differences between '74-75 are trivial, so think of it as a mislabeled '74.. This kit has a neat set of unplated wide Rally wheels w/o center caps or trim rings, IIRC.
  7. The convertible, I believe
  8. Sometime in 2016 I assume... Round 2 doesn't really announce release dates very far in advance.
  9. The 1980 issue. See this thread for more info... http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/89431-mpc-1980-road-runner/
  10. It is humorous all the posts that talk about changes to make a 'stock' version...I guess they mean a non H/O regular '83 Cutlass.
  11. They forgot the '84 in that illustration...the last Hurst/Olds (always liked the silver and black paint scheme).
  12. Was at the B&N at Desert Ridge (N Phoenix) this afternoon, they didn't have it...
  13. The monster truck version probably doesn't have the stock 4cyl either.
  14. Lol...hopefully I'll get my Cutlasses in the next couple of weeks...got them on preorder from Model Roundup. I didn't check my LHS for them, they do get the RPP early releases, but I figured they were all pre-bought...
  15. As with many products, there are always those guys that have to be the first on their block, in their clique, etc to have certain new products...human/consumer nature...
  16. I think if I wanted an electric car, I'd look into the Focus Electric...or a used Tesla Model S. This 'Defiant' thing is too weird for me.
  17. I'm sure they retooled the '70 to do the '71...that's how MPC (and other kit makers) did things back then. The '70 body tooling is no doubt long gone...would be nice to see it again, but I'm not holding my breath..
  18. Looks absurd. Mirrors look like '70s GM mirrors.
  19. I haven't heard anything about a 70 Grand Prix, seems pretty unlikely, considering that tooling was modified into the '71 then the '72, then the Super Fly custom then the Sweathog Dream Machine...
  20. also I assume will be a solid modern Round2 box instead of a floppy Lindberg donut box.
  21. Hmm..dungarees and chambray...and ties...sounds like the 50s... Going to have typewriters also?
  22. Working in the software biz, I'm used to shorts and t-shirts when I've worked in software companies, or khakis and button down shirts (or jeans and polo shirts for casual Friday) when I'm in a corporate IT environment. When I worked in consulting, it was usually shorts & t-shirts at the office with dressing up when I had to visit a client's office or go out to lunch or dinner w/ clients. I do have a sizable collection of ties, dress shirts, etc, but those mostly only are for formal events. I would never go out in public in flip-flops, pyjamas or sweatpants, though...some clothes are only good around the house.
  23. I have a couple on preorder from Model Roundup...I'm not in a rush..
  24. Hit me hard...been a fan since I first heard 'Little Red Corvette' at age 12 on the radio...his music has long been part of the soundtrack of my life. Saw him in concert twice...heard about it at work this morning, been listening on my phone all day to various Prince tracks...and that incredible Super Bowl half time...
  25. Neat...it's the Japanese market Odyssey, more of an Accord tall wagon than a mini van...nothing like the US market Odyssey..
