  1. Probably..but who cares what the general public thinks? This is his 3rd Indy 500 win....he's quite well known amongst motorsport fans, I would think.
  2. As an event in terms of scope and size, it's kind for motorsport fans what going to the Super Bowl is for football fans. I've gone the last two years and a couple times in the past, I think it's going to be an annual tradition, along w/ the US F1 race once that gets going..
  3. Section C, a bit north of the pagoda & start/finish line...near the end of the pit lane. Clear views of turn 4 and the main straight. Also made a trip to the legendary 'Mug & Bun' for the root beer.
  4. I had a good time this weekend at the Indy 500...was hot, but my seats were in the shade. Exciting race. Watched some of the Monaco GP Sunday morning and the Charlotte 600 Sunday evening from my hotel. Had a nice weekend in the green Midwest.
  5. Got mine today along w/ the Hudson convertible...both look pretty nice at first glance.
  6. A neighbor has a gold w/ tan top '05 PT Convertible...neat little car.
  7. I'd like to have seen more new tools announced, but with 4 new tools from last fall's announcement still coming this summer, I guess it's understandable that this fall is thin. Of the new reissue announcements, I can see getting the GNX (I built one back when it first came out, have an idea for another), and maybe the Foose kits if they have new, interesting wheels and other parts. I already have multiples of most of the other reissues I'd be interested in.
  8. That was previously announced. These are new announcements.
  9. Yes, the Mini and Ferrari 599 GTO are new Revell of Germany tools. Alas, the rest are reissues...I wonder if there will be new parts w/ the Foose kits. Nice to see the Buick GNX back (was never reissued), though the photo they have is of a GN..
  10. About the only one of the retro styled niche models of the last decade that I liked and wouldn't mind owning was the Thunderbird.
  11. I checked the B&N near my office last night (Tempe Marketplace) and they had no issues...not sure when the Summer 12 issue is due out...
  12. Front bumpers appear to be different also...the '74 has wider parking lights.
  13. I am curious how the Aoshima and Tamiya versions will compare...I usually find Tamiyas to be better in detail, accuracy and fit.
  14. I guess this one of those 'you had to be there' type of subjects...they are from a specific time and place. I have no interest in them, or also Tom Daniels' type of customs, or customs in general, but I do know they have their fans...
  15. I might subscribe...MTC and Collectible Automobile are two mags I want to keep print subscriptions of as I switch my other mags to electronic versions.
  16. Main differences are the grille and tailights..the '73 has quad round tailights, the '74 has dual rounded trapazoidal tailights..'73 is the better looking of the two years, IMO.
  17. Sweet.... I love '60s Corgis and Dinkys.
  18. I've had good luck finding them at Barnes & Noble..
  19. No. I have the Spring '12 one w/ the Plymouth XNR concept on the cover. The Summer '12 one is either out now or coming soon:
  20. Neat...wonder what became of the double kit tooling...is any of it shared w/ AMT's other Ts?
  21. It's still around, pretty good.... my favorite steakhouse in Scottsdale is Mastro's City Hall...
  22. Hmmm...got to worry about losing parts in the loo or sink, though... I've learned from experience not to open kits on the sofa or bed, because parts disappear on their own or the furkids abscond with them...
  23. I like Scottsdale..there are a lot of restaurants over there that I like..and the Pavillions for car shows, etc...worked at Scottsdale Rd and Camelback for 6 months last year at a client in an underground office... was a nice short commute..
  24. True enough...I see plenty of worn out Corvettes running around, and used to see worn out Fieros (I haven't seen a running Fiero in ages)...seen a couple battered, tattered Vipers also...so it happens to some examples of any car sooner or later...
