  1. Over the weekend, I took a tour of the covered bridges of Ashtabula County, Ohio (far northeastern corner of Ohio, on Lake Erie and the PA state line)... miles and miles of driving down backroads, some paved, some gravel and dirt with mud and potholes. Visited 12 covered bridges over two days. On one leg, I was behind this Porsche 911 Turbo cab (996 generation), and the driver was going slow dodging the mud puddles on several miles of gravel/dirt roads. My Jeep faired well w/ the occasionally rough road conditions. Got in a couple beaches last night also.
  2. I assume the ‘68 tooling was reworked to do the ‘69. Chassis and engine likely were carried over. I’ve never compared mine, though. By the way, I don’t think MPC did a ‘67 Impala. Never seen one. I have the original AMT ‘67 ht & convertible.
  3. Machine some tiny bolts to bolt down the bracket...
  4. I also have the red non-turbo version, got a few years ago along w/ a 911 in the same series. Those Monogram small box curbsides are neat.
  5. A Meijers opened here in June, haven’t been in lately. Will have to check it out.
  6. I really haven't bought much since August..been quiet until the last week...these came over the last few days..
  7. I’ve thought of reworking a 2+2 body to fit the Grand Prix chassis, which would be the right wheelbase. The body would require sectioning in two places—the Catalina has a shorter wheelbase than the Bonneville, and a shorter rear overhang IIRC.
  8. I don’t see a side marker on the rear quarter, so maybe a ‘67..
  9. The Grand Prix kit does have the shorter wheel base. Different roofline and side trim than the Bonneville.
  10. This was the last release of that kit, I built it in the 80s as a teenager..typical atrocious 80s MPC box art...
  11. Funny movie. I liked the old Cadillac he drove in it…
  12. Fiero wasn’t a ‘foreign’ car…
  13. Nice..there is a 1:1 T-Type around here painted in a similar red with GNX wheels.
  14. Is it warped? Every kit I've had from that series had a warped body with excessive flash on parts...
  15. The wire wheels and opened up rear wheel wells look great.
  16. Hasegawa has really been on a roll lately with new tooling.
  17. Model Roundup now has it for pre-order for Nov. https://www.modelroundup.com/1930-Ford-Model-A-Coupe-p/rmx-4464.htm
  18. Looks good...I like the dark green and tan combo. It is interesting, I don't think anyone has made a V12 E-Type in scale? One of the later Series III V12 versions would be nice to see in 1/24th.
  19. Not on the road, but on tv...watched the first 2 episodes of the new season of 'Goliath' last night, and there is a new Lucid Air seen in both episodes... I don't think it's even on sale yet, some product placement I assume.
  20. Plenty of scenarios where one might like the model posted, but not the modeler. Or the modeler may not like people that like their models. A forum is like high school, lots of petty infighting amidst cliques.
  21. Henry is 15, has arthritis and sleeps a lot. But he is still a sweet happy boy.
  22. The wheels are what I liked about the red version. Never got one, though.
  23. Which isn't really a major difference, though..wheelbase stayed the same, similar engine options, etc. Now the 1980 X-body was a big redesign--moving to FWD w/ a transverse engine, etc.
  24. Superficially new..new squared off body and revised interior, but still basically the same car...the '75-79 X-body platform wasn't that different from the '68-74. 1975 wasn't a good time for performance cars, economy was the big marketing push then...
