I think it did..I have one unbuilt somewhere and built the earlier regular one when it was first released in the 80s. They probably will just use the taillights and rear bumper from the Aerocoupe kit. Found a pic of the both, looks like the aero coupe has the revised taillights...the rear bumper should be smoother under the decklid, though...(like the white 1:1 below).
-
‘87 Monte Carlo SS also had a different rear bumper and taillights.

The Future of Revell...for 2024 at least.

That would be on Round 2 to do...(the fastback style was an MPC kit). -

The downsized LTDs were 209 inches with the bumpers. Though I'd love a kit of an '80s LTD/LTD Crown Victoria...would be fun to do a beater one as a replica of the car in the 'Sabotage' Beastie Boys video.
-
IIRC, Revell had an issue of the Fujimi kit in the 80s.
-
Not sure..I haven't seen the show, so not sure what is in it. 204 inches is still over a foot longer than an '83 BMW 733.
-
Well, for the mystery car kit, if the numbers are accurate a 1/25th scale kit that is 208mm long translates to 1:1 car that is 204.5 inches. Too long for the 80s BMW 7 series, too short for a '71 Galaxie.
-
Also, the most obvious visual difference is the 6 series was a 2dr coupe, the 7 series a 4dr sedan....
-
It’s a nice kit. Missing a carburetor IIRC. I’d love to see a ‘55 version of this.

Nice haul. I built the Bora as a kid. Is that a Lamborghini Cheetah up at the top right?

Duel Peterbilt
Rob Hall replied to Bugatti Fan's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Great replica of a Duel rig... I love that movie, first saw the Incredible Hulk episode that had footage from it as a kid around 1978 then saw Duel around 1980 or so. Speaking of Duel, this is has been my weekend of watching cheesy movies with killer truck drivers--all on YouTube. First was 'Overtake', an Indian Bollywood remake of Duel--sort of. It had more story at the beginning and in places of the driver of the car (Nandan) and his wife, office, promotion, etc. Many of the chase scenes were very similar to Duel.. the ending wasn't. a couple screen captures below--the truck had a Kenworth 'KW' logo on the top of the grille, but never seen a front end like that. The trailer appeared to be a lowboy style trailer with a tanker body on top of it..had like 8 tires across in the rear. Instead of a red Valiant, they had a red W123 200D Mercedes sedan. Continuing with cheesy movies, I watched a Canadian film called 'Tow Truck Killer' which seemed to be inspired by Duel--low budget with a large semi truck wrecker towing a '73 Torino wagon dueling with two women in a red 2012-ish Mustang GT, filmed on desolate mountain highways somewhere in western Canada. Watched 'Trucks' (called Highway to Hell) with Tim Busfield, seemed like a knockoff of Maximum Overdrive with small town citizens at a gas station/cafe terrorized by possessed trucks incl. a '59 Chevy Apache. Now watching 'Death Car on the Freeway' about a psycho killer in a '70s Dodge van (oddly without the engine cover-chrome valve covers visible) and playing some dreadful music on an 8-track...seems a bigger budget ChiPs episode, and I'm pretty sure I've seen it a long time ago.. -
What did you see on the road today?
Rob Hall replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Out in the snow and ice yesterday afternoon (I had ventured out to the hardware store to get more ice melt) I saw a blue and black BMW i8 (the hybrid coupe w/ the funky doors, like the Revell kit) and a salty orange McLaren 720s (unusual to see out and about in the Cleveland burbs in any weather). -
Cold down there too…snow in Florida today, and my sister who is wintering in Myrtle Beach SC is expecting snow tonight. In the 30s today.
-
Nice...it was up to 9 here today outside Cleveland, maybe 10F and sunny. Down to 3 now, supposed to be down to -9F tonight and up to 14F tomorrow. Coldest I can recall since the Polar Vortex in 2019.. But at least it's not completely dark at 5:30pm now.. days getting longer.

The 1:1 that someone built looks so strange because it looks like they used B-body side glass and upper doors/window framing that are too tall for the Cuda body.. looking at the space above the windshield, they raised the roof for the doors to fit...probably should have built it with a stock Cuda roof height..and made doors that fit the stock Cuda side window opening height.
-
Nah, I just brush the snow off before I go out. I go out 3-4 times a week, a cover would be a nuisance…

I had a professor in college that had a 427 Cobra in the 60s. I found this out one day when I went to his office in the early 90s. Had several framed pics of it and a few Cobra models on a shelf. I guess he zoomed around Akron in it in the 60s-70s. He was an engineer at Goodyear Aerospace then, before he became a faculty member. Interesting guy. IlRC, he had a beige Camry when I knew him..

Got about 3-5 inches fresh this afternoon on top of the 5 or so that was already there... it was a rain/snow mix this morning, so icy under the new snow...my plow guy was here about an hour ago, cleared the driveway and up to the garage..moved my Jeep after his first pass so he could get the full width of the driveway near the garage (there is about a 30 x 60ft section in front of the garage, then maybe 20 x 200ft out to street). Should be no more snow in the next few days, but the 3 days will be around 0F at night and under 10F daytime..ugh..looking forward to February..

Unfortunately, not here. They only delay trash collection on 1/2 dozen holidays through the year. Rolled them out a little while ago...will roll them back in about 24 hours..

Last year was expensive, I bought my current house in 2023, knowing the furnaces and air conditioners were 25-30 years old and likely not up to code. In 2024, I bought 2 new furnaces, two new air conditioners (the house has two complete central air and furnaces each w/ their own duct work), a hot water heater, upgraded fuse panel, new meter outside, etc. This year will probably be cosmetic work inside--kitchen flooring, maybe remove some carpeting and put down wood laminate or tile, etc.

I know that, but that is the past..the modern car sold very well as a Charger. I remember all the people whining it should have been called a Coronet 20 years ago when the 05 first came out. -
Cars that grow on you as you get older.
Rob Hall replied to RSchnell's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've never had a truck, but really like '80s-90s Fords (up through '96) and GMs--both the Rounded Line and GMT-400 generations. I really like 80s GM B- and C- bodies, though the engines were pretty low power and some troublesome. I'd love to have an '80s Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham or Buick Electra to tinker with.
