My friend Chuck Darnell is a fellow Monogram fan so when i told him about the conversion set he ordered one as well. So, we decided to build ours in tandem. That was June of 2024. Fast forward to January 2025 and we have both finally started working on them. To start off, the primary item that needed to get done was scratchbuilding the floorpan since so many other aspects of this conversion are tied to that. It took 4 paper templates to dial in the size and shape of the floor before I committed it to .040 Evergreen sheet. Then I was able to pin the roll cage into position and cut the hole for the shifter access to the trans.

I'm sure that most of you are familiar with the Big Drag, a tooling variation of the 1/8 scale Big T kit. It has never been reissued, and is quite prized. Last year 3D Scale Parts introduced a parts set that would allow builders to convert the more readily available Big T into a Big Drag. When they made the introduction I immediately messaged the owner and mentioned they should offer the parts set in 1/24 as well, to use on the Little T (and the modified reissues offered over the last 60 years) He quickly brought out the 1/24 version and I immediately ordered it. Just over 4 weeks later I got the parts in my hand, and they were his usual incredible quality. It's not a complete set because you still have to source a blower, seat, scoop and wheels/tires. But it takes care of the parts that are tricky to fab or source. -note- due to issues with the board software or something I'm going to have to start this thread with multiple posts. maybe a mod can combine them later?

It's still happening. And it is not related to me posting too quickly. I typed out my new thread, hit submit just one time and then the Oops error came up.

Still seeing the issue today. Frustrating (not frustrated with the mods) to type up a decent sized post for it then not to work.

While I can somewhat see your point of view because this is a subject that doesn't interest me enough to pay that much I don't really think the price is out of line, especially since until very recently low volume chrome plating services were extinct (Thank you Spotlight Hobbies for bringing it back!) Up until 10-ish years ago when Modelhaus closed up shop there were many people who paid north of $150 for their curbside kits, which very often only had a flat resin plate for the "frame" as opposed to what this Caddy kit has. Yes, the Modelhaus kits had chrome, but where else are you going to get this subject? And it's multimedia to boot.

I think they have replaced the Tamiya tools with their own in-house line of tools.

That's exactly what i did when i mastered the 32 Station Wagon (woody) for Flinstone. I did quite a bit of work to the wood portion to make it more accurate to the 32 design since the panels are different and the 32 also has arched openings at the top of the window and door openings. Thanks for bringing up the differences between the 32 and 34 commercial grilles.

As a fan of all things 32 Ford you have my attention. I as well as many others have wished for a good B400, so nice to see how you are coming up with your own.

I don't see it in my most recent catalog. But he often keeps molds when he takes stuff out of the catalog so I would reach out to him if you're interested.

Pretty sure there was a resin conversion by Flintstone. it might still be in his catalog

There are three 3D printed ones available that I know of, they all seem pretty similar style-wise with a heavy Z in the rear Iceman Collectables- website Juan 4 U -eBay Custom 3D Scale Creations- eBay

Norm actually used to make 2 different 32 frames. One was the Revell 32 frame, but with the trademark stuff removed (which is worth the price of admission because where Revell put that it was tricky to remove). But he also did a traditional near stock frame with separate floorboard that was set up to accept the suspension parts from the Revell 29 ford pickup for a traditional hot rod look.

The only people that can update any topic after a short amount of time are the site admins.

Nice to see they're getting more out of the tooling, but still have my fingers crossed for other body styles (especially a 30-31 closed cab pickup)

Did Moebius or someone else add some parts along the way? I don't recall the spotlight in the original issue, and possibly a couple other things on that new builtup?

That's why I wanted to clarify which kit you were talking about. The Monogram 29 was never offered as all stock. But as Dave Darby clarified, the Revell 29 only included the stock wheels in the original issue. I had wrongly assumed that the stock wheels remained in the kit to this day. My mistake.

That's why I asked the admins to combine them all.

I'm just wondering when they'll release the 63 with the go kart as originally done in 63. They spent the money to retool the kart, and the truck, more money in the coffers to marry them up.

Just to clarify, you're talking about the Revell kit that has the option to build either the closed cab pickup or roadster pickup, not the Monogram kit, which has never had stock parts? I thought the Revell kit had all the stock items, but I could be wrong.

What stock parts are missing from the revell 29 pickup?
