  1. It's a great kit to have at Hobby Lobby and other mass retailers because it has name recognition for impulse buys and people who don't know what to buy for someone who "is into cars"
  2. There's no "missing parts" unless you are comparing it to the 2n1 kit that was out awhile back. And unlike the true 2n1 kits from the 60's, this kit was not designed to have 2 versions in the box. It required running the entire stock tool, and then running the entire custom tool and then throwing away the body.
  3. May I suggest widening the trunk/rumble seat opening when you do it? I've seen conversions in scale where the builder just stuck a bed in the stock opening and the bed is just ridiculously narrow in my opinion. Open the width to the molding and the height down to the splash pan and it should give it better proportions.
  4. @admin, maybe combine this into the existing thread?
  5. If the name of the model is Mustang, Corvette or Camaro Hobby Lobby will stock it. It's easy name recognition for the non-automotive inclined buyers.
  6. Can't wait to see the finished product at KKIM Marty
  7. glad you were able to forge a path and show the rest of us a good way to backdate the venerable Revell 32 frame. As we discussed, I have a similar idea rattling around in the ol' noggin. Now that you've done the work it's almost certain someone will come out with a 3D printed one, right? ?
  8. Off to a good start. For a more detailed chassis can you use one of the many first gen mustang frames to save you some work? edit- oops, I see that you're using the Moebius frame already
  9. Very cool giving it your own spin. I dig the double thin whitewalls. I've seen this kit around before but didn't realize how Nailhead-esque the engine is. Cool to see the double distributor setup wired up.
  10. This is a neat kit. Awhile back when i discovered it's existence I started researching it and found how expensive they were. So i thought about combining an MPC or AMT 32 sedan body with the surf woody to make my own. Then I stumbled upon a builtup for a great price at a swap meet. That one is still awaiting resto, so i'll be following along to see how yours turns out.
  11. Can't wait to see the body all one color. Surgical precision as always!
  12. I know that the 34 Coupe slot car comes molded in red. I want the molded in red stock height coupe body for my Monogram series of builds. It's funny to me when I see the classic Duesenbergs as slot car kits.
  13. Just to clarify, which business closed, Model builders Warehouse or HRM? I want to abate the confusion before rumors spread about the demise of the wrong company.
  14. Dennis, I apologize if you've mentioned this already, but what is your wheel/tire combo? Unique and stunning.
  15. Thanks, didn't know that part was in there.
  16. Nah, there's still plenty of traffic on this forum, but I don't think people venture down to this area as heavily since it's further down the main page. There's also not a heavy hot rod presence here. My rough estimation is that hot rods make up about 10% of the threads in the Bench section.
  17. Looking good. great color
  18. Great stance, and I love the color. Keep it rolling!
  19. Glad you're not too badly hurt. Cracked ribs sounds like no fun though. However, glad to see this one back on the bench!
  20. The admins should just pin a thread to the top here that everyone can deposit their wants and suggestions for Round2 in. Same for other manufacturers, rather than having a new one pop up every week. Not saying it's not a worthwhile discussion to have.
  21. Not sure how much traffic this area of the board gets.
  22. Thanks for the heads up on that bumper. I plan to build mine without the connie kit.
  23. That chop is wicked. Keep it rolling.
