1/12 scale bbc questions
Jordan White replied to Fantom's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Alright, here are the pictures. You can see the lines from the layers, but they can be cleaned up and filled. The detail is very nice and they have a nice solid feel to them. -
Oh, another few on my list are the three Jeeps by Tamiya (Grand Cherokee, Wrangler soft top, Wrangler hardtop). The Wranglers are getting hard to find, and they aren't cheap. They are nice kits and would be great to see again.

1/12 scale bbc questions
Jordan White replied to Fantom's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I have a 1/16 BBC with 4bbl intake by TDR Innovations that was printed in the detail plastic. If you'd like, I could get a picture tonight and post it here so you can get an idea of the unpainted parts. I can also show you the 1/12 scale 4bbl intake I got for the Camaro engine so you can see how the finish looks in 1/12 scale. -
Check ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/4-1-16-Scale-Slot-Mags-With-Firestone-Tires/264212765464?hash=item3d844edb18:g:DTIAAOSwizpcaYiw:rk:1:pf:0 https://www.ebay.com/itm/AMT-1-16-Scale-Mags-Tires-Parts-Lot-Model-Car-Swap-Meet/323711052149?hash=item4b5eaea975:g:zvYAAOSw2jFcdKWc:sc:USPSFirstClass!55303!US!-1:rk:3:pf:0

1/12 scale bbc questions
Jordan White replied to Fantom's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Do you know what material the parts were printed in that you were looking at? There is a smoothest detail plastic that has a really good finish. Cleanup is non-existent, though you will want to wash the parts with soapy water when you first get them. The downside of the 3D printed parts will be the cost however. -
I know it doesn't work this way, but it would be awesome if in the reissue, they added the grille and interior from the 1995 promo kit. I think if they did that, they could get many more sales for people who want to build a 1994 or 1995 model (could go up to '97, but you would have to add/make the Vortec intake). Oh, and dump those crappy Goodyear tires that look to be out of the 70's.

I've touched on it before, but Round 2 really needs to reissue one of the C1500 pickup kits. I would say with the recent release of the Lightning kit, that the 454SS would be a good contender, but I also think the long bed version is overdue (though not sure if the USA-1 version would affect a stock reissue).

Another reason for no time limit is if your image links get broken down the road and you want to update them, especially in the aforementioned long build threads.

They actually are!

Yes! I was just thinking there needs to be a kit of this while reading a recent article on the new Jimny on Jalopnik. -

The “fun” part will be correcting the body to look accurate to the 1:1! -

I will be building the Doyusha 1/12 Mustang as a pro touring build, using parts from the 1/12 GT500 kit and some 3D printed wheels. -

I would say the Revell ‘70 Mach 1, you could maybe also get the new 1969 boss 302 kit and get some aftermarket decals. -

Lucky to find one for only $100! I bought mine for closer to $250 I think (granted I bought a 1/12 Mercedes AMG SLC kit for only $75 when they have been going on ebay for between $2-300.) It will be interesting to paint but I'll be buying auto paint in a spray can to paint it. -

I might have interest, depending on the time frame. I have a 1/12 Mach 1 that is waiting to be built! -

FOUR NEW OFF-ROAD TIRES
Jordan White replied to cnaind's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
If he has in fact stopped making them, it's too bad he couldn't hand them over to Joseph at Fireball since he makes some excellent tires and Alan had quite a nice selection of truck/off road tires. Granted there is Scenes Unlimited as well. -
A Thought about the Magazine, etc.
Jordan White replied to Ace-Garageguy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I agree that this is a fantastic forum, and is one of the few I've seen (US based at least) that has quite consistent posting numbers. I will come right out and say that the Scale Auto Magazine forums are very poorly laid out/designed and lately, seem to be slowing down as far as new content. I think that making this forum paid only will severely reduce the member numbers, what with Facebook and such. I agree that it would perhaps be in Gregg's best interests to do as some others have said and make a paid area with the content that would be found in the print magazine, and then drop the print version. At the GTPlanet forums (for the Gran Turismo racing game series), they have a separate locked section specifically for premium (paid) members. If people are paying for an item, more specifically one that is subscription based and has an expected schedule, then it is fair for them to question the frequency and arrival conditions of said item. Myself, I stopped subscribing to magazines a few years back because they just took up space and usually had info that was already out of date and/or could be found online. -
A DeLorean... With a V8.
Jordan White replied to Lovefordgalaxie's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
They should have used a Porsche V8, so that way it would sound the same as it did in BTTF! -
Toyota FJ Crusier, What's In The Box

Nice to see a kit of a new SUV subject! Despite claiming to be "no glue", it has a nice amount of detail. The only minus is having the door panels and seat bottoms molded to the interior tub. -
