  1. Quite an interesting build, certainly looks like something you'd see sitting in someone's back yard! I did something similar with mine, I built it as a beater El Camino you'd see in like a trailer park down south.
  2. Minor error Bill, it was a 6.0 they used, not a 6.1.
  3. When you lose a part, then decide to use another part in place, and once it's glued on and completed you end up finding the original part on the floor.
  4. Seriously though, I wouldn't trust a 30 odd year engine that's barely been run and just sitting.
  5. Yeah I'll be adjusting the suspension anyways since I'm going to be adding the "pen spring coil springs" rather than the...solid...rods that they have. Edit: painted the wheels.
  6. I still have to do a little more bondo work, but I added the bodykit from the Monogram '91 Chevy S10 kit, along with a modified front airdam from the Revell Acura Integra. Rear end had to have a filler panel made as well. Also opened up the rad core support to allow for the full effect of the kit see-through grille shell.
  7. Was wondering when you'd chime in Bradley! Since I don't have a Turbo T-bird kit to steal parts from, I modified the kit trans to look like a T-5. It could be better, but I think it's a fairly accurate representation (even though you won't really see it once installed ). As you can see, the bottom doesn't go down quite as far, and there isn't as much detail (ribbing and such), but the overall shape is there. EDIT: Since people posted when I was making this post, I'll add here. Wasn't paying attention to colors very well haha, so I'll just say it was a custom paint job.
  8. Color is still up in the air for me. I'm thinking red or white.
  9. Just purchased the rereleased Monogram Mustang SVO kit, and I'm going to build it practically stock, with the exception of some Lightning 5-spoke wheels (figure on new hubs used with the correct F-150 bolt pattern.) Lightning wheels are from a built kit, so they are currently sitting in the purple stuff. Since I haven't seen anyone else doing so (unless it's in the Fox Body Community Build), I'm going to try and correct the flaws of the kit along the way. Of course, since I'll be doing the '84 version, I have to back-date the headlights to the correct sealed beam style. This shouldn't be too difficult though with the way the light buckets are made, I should just be able to do some minimal mods and use some smaller lenses. (I really think the model on the box looks bug-eyed with the flush lenses ). Sit tight, as I will be starting on the engine and transmission!
  10. What I'll be building is using the 1993 Ranger STX kit, along with parts from a snap-tite NASCAR and engine from the Revell Mustang convertible, I'll be building a faux-stock truck, similar in style to the Monte Carlo from the Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. I'll be using the rear axle/suspension, wheels/tires, steering wheel, and the roll cage from the NASCAR kit. Here's the chassis so far.
  11. 1/16 MPC Corvette for 45 pounds Buy It Now. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MPC-1984-CORVETTE-1-16-SCALE-MODEL-KIT-COMPLETE-/150623187908?pt=UK_ToysGames_ModelKits_ModelKits_JN&hash=item2311d773c4
  12. There was one time that I had the opposite happen: dropped my finished model on the floor and it broke, anger of course ensued (then of course a rebuild, luckily it was one of my simpler builds).
  13. "Hulk can't glue on rear view mirror! Hulk smash model!"
  14. Get yourself an iPad then! (Be the most expensive magazine ever! )
  15. I actually think this is a good idea. You wouldn't have to worry about ruined mags, you could read them right after they are published, more content could be added due to "unlimited" space, and the subscription could be cheaper due to the related costs. Heck, if you host it in PDF format, it's easy to print for those who want the print version, and no one should have problems loading it.
  16. I found that a flathead screwdriver works great, since they come in several sizes and offer a nice handle. Course this is if you're doing small or narrow spots.
  17. Any updates on this build?
  18. It's a rough guesstimate using say a post on the side of the road, when the car ahead of you passes the post, you count the seconds until you pass the post which gives you your following time.
  19. Yes! Finally received this! Gonna build it up like I want to build up my Jeep down the road. \
