Another option is to wrap wire evenly around a pencil. Spread the wire so the loops are similar distance. Wrap the wire with bare metal foil. You may need to wrap the pencil with wax paper before you wrap it with wire.

Bad Habit Decals what happened?
iBorg replied to biscayne63's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I understand that. I'm curious as to what brand and make of printer. Roland's were similar to Alps but worked at a different temperature. They're old enough technology they may be affordable as an alternate. I'm unaware of other high end manufacturer's that supported the foils. Mike -
Bad Habit Decals what happened?

What I'm curious about is what kind of printer he used. He was very specific that it was not an Alps. Any guesses? -
Obscure Kits You Never Knew Were Made...Until Now
iBorg replied to Casey's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Curious thing about the Chevette, yesterday I saw a T1000 driving. I never expected to see a Chevette on the road yet alone a T1000, the Pontiac version of the Chevette. -
Just a friendly bump.

WHICH One to build w/ 1972 CHALLENGER Funny car
iBorg replied to booboo60's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
The obvious choice is the Gene Snow car. The chassis is somewhat unique. I'm unaware of any car besides Snow that ran it. You could put a Revell chassis under it which would be more accurate for the Ramchargers or the Color Me Gone, the Chi-Town Hustler or the (I think) the Bob Banning Dodge. The Soapy Sales car also ran a chassis similar to the Revell chassis but I don't know where to point you for decals. The Dodge Fever ran a Logghe chassis like the PL cars. You need to also look to see if the desired car ran a front bumper or not. I've removed and molded in the Jo-Han bumper. It may be difficult depending on the car. If you want to trade complete chassis and tin from a Revell Vega for the Johan kit, including motor, I'm looking for the Jo-han motor and would be interested in that trade. Of course my choice if it was available would be the Diamond Jim Annin car. see: https://www.google.com/search?q=Diamond+Jim+Annin&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=SlkMVeCaEoa0ggSElYCgDQ&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAg&biw=1174&bih=669#imgdii=_&imgrc=9ez3FT4gxj375M%253A%3BTh5pto4rDuWmZM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fimages12.fotki.com%252Fv254%252Fphotos%252F3%252F810003%252F9140104%252FDiamondJimAnnin9-vi.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fpublic.fotki.com%252Fmastermodeler%252F11_reference_pictures%252Fphotos_from_the_web%252Fdrag-cars-by-contri%252Fbob-plumer-photo-co%252Fbobs-funny-car-photos%252Fdiamond-jim-annin-8-jpg.html%3B600%3B394 Mike -
1/16 Scale Army Vega Funny Car - Finished 10/14/2018
iBorg replied to Mooneyzs's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
I've been watching but rarely comment. I can not agree more that this is a wonderful "set of directions" to beautifully detail and upgrade a kit. I've seen numerous builds that were built like skilled builders. Many of those are wonderful models, yours is a wonderful replica. I am very impressed with the under body detail. That area is normally ignored on even the best builds. -
The skill level on the site keeps raising. Mercy that's beautiful. Reminds me of the old Memorex commercials, "Is it real or is it Memorex?"

I could see this on the strips in the late 60's as an exhibition.....the Partridge Family bus vs. the Little Red Wagon or the Durachrome Bug.

Nah......any tip of the hat goes to Vince. Thank you.

Question.....how long will it stayed cancelled? A week or a month? Clarkson earned 3 million pounds last year and was BBC's top earning star. Top Gear is BBC's biggest money maker. Who goes, the star, the producer or the show? Not going to be A or C. Curious fact, one of the principle reasons for Top Gear America being cancelled is fighting between the three hosts. Rumor has it Adam tried to punch out Tanner. Foolish move on Adam's part.

PDP decals were top of the line.....maybe the best quality drag decals produced. I'd put their stuff a notch above Slixx and better than 90% of the best Alps decals.

Shucks......

Not to high jack but Round 2 is reissuing the Candies and Hughes Cuda? Is the Polar Lights car with different decals or the MPC mold? I ask as this and the Garlits rail were my first two kits I built. I know the Garlits rail was reissued but have yet been able to find one to buy.

Don Carlton Pro Stock Colt rework
iBorg replied to Plasticfanatic's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
I have such mixed feelings about the white Rod Shop Colt. I had about a half hour conversation with Don at the Sportsnationals that year. NHRA booted his entry because he didn't have enough division points. He showed me a lot of the features of the car. Then that summer........ I don't know if I'd want a model of the white car in celebration of that May day or not.... Having said that, I'd love to have a good resin car for a Sox and Martin or Billy the Kid car. (edited to add the comma.) -
There's a title I thought was gone. After Source Interlink killed several of their titles, I expected it to also be discontinued. Based upon comments of one of its freelancers, it was supposed to be printed this past fall. I doubt it will be reprinted. As for Hot Rod Deluxe having too much reprint material, some may consider that a negative while others a positive. Finally considering the Magic Muffler Fiat.....the restorer claims to have bought the rights to the name for the Magic Muffler chain. He was upset with the inaccuracy of the GMP diecast of this car. I asked about decals for the car and the response was at best very negative. If I had a printer, I'd create the artwork......There is an abundance of resources available on-line.

Bonneville Hot Rod Streamliner - Update 01-21
iBorg replied to Bernard Kron's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I've often thought of the same thing.....if you're looking for running gear how about a Revell midget as a donor? -
I have been told he is. There has been a fury of Fremont decals offered recently on an auction site. I have not seen any resin but am hopeful. Joe made good stuff.

Defective Round Two kits
iBorg replied to iBorg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I took the easy way out.....I returned it to the store (Hobby Lobby) and exchanged it for a sealed kit. Planned on making it a Billy the Kid pro stocker but am now finding it difficult to find decals. -
This kit cries out to be mixed with the AMT Nascar Fords.....

How far is this from the Hemi Under Glass that was reissued a few years ago?
