  1. Welcome, anytime. I'm building mine as a stock rebuild kind of truck. Both will be pulling construction equipment as loads all detailed out to an extent. I want them to look slightly used, but kept in good shape. As if the company keeps them up inside and out. The W has the sleeper, so it gets more interior detail items than the Diamond does. I tink the little touches really make the model. Since I gave away the construction equip. as the load you might find something like a yellow hard hat inside one of the trucks that the driver left behind and maybe a pack of smokes left on the dash too. I like the little details like that.
  2. Typical interiors are black with wood grain dash boards. I think the interior is too dark considering all the details I am adding to it and the fact I went with a black ext. color as well. Matter of fact I have two black trucks with black int. in the works. Might check the web for pics and see if you can find a scheme you like. Know what you mean about dead lines. 6 months to go, but I want mine done in Nov. so I can take them to a show. Not sure I'll have them all done in 5 months time or not. Sitting here working on a dirt track Dart since I don't have all my detail items bought up at this time, so I'm a little stalled right now.
  3. Looks good. I have a couple Fords set aside to build up when I get to it. I'll have to keep DP in mind.
  4. Center the blower. Run the alternator if it's a street car. Run MSD for street, magneto's don't work too well for street cars. No room for power steering or much room for an engine fan on a blower motor in a Dart. Get the electric fans out for that aluminum radiator.
  5. Great work. Looks good.
  6. http://members.optusnet.com.au/pattosplace/home.html Just find the section that will have 43 in it on the right. It has all the Petty decals that were ever made in any scale. Peel or water slide.
  7. That's not correct either. I don't recall the name of the episode, but it shows the Gl's engine in the barn and the shot is far enough away that you can only make out the chrome breather and valve covers. So that way you don't know it was a big block car or not. Diamond thieves had the black Charger and wrecked it in a chase with police and hid the diamonds under the dash above the factory radio. The car was towed to a junk yard where the boys found it and bought it after pooling there money together. They show them welding the doors shut in Cooter's garage and hand painting the numbers and flag on it. It was orange cause they found the paint in the garage. Then later in the scene the thieves escape jail and go looking for the car to get the diamonds and during a car chase they fall out from under the dash.
  8. Plus one more thing about the springs. You have them mounted backwards. The front segments have more leafs than the back segment.
  9. Welcome, anytime. If you want to see the diff between Petty Blue and Ind. blue just send me your e mail addy and I'll send you some pics. I don't have pics of the exact car you are working on, but you can still see the paint difference. They painted there cars like this for years, and I have never run across the reason for the Ind. Blue color.
  10. Everything on the engine except the intake will be painted industrial blue. That's an OSHA color. I believe both Northern Toll and TSC carries it. The suspension and bottom of the fuel tank is also Industrial Blue. everything else is Petty Blue and Day Glo Red. MCW will have the correct blue and red.
  11. Good job.
  12. Looking good so far.
  13. Sweet. And it's got a Hemi too. lol You should sand your slicks next time to get rid of that mold line and make them more realistic. I have got a hold of some tires that would not get rid of that shine no matter how long you sanded on them though.
  14. Awesome build.
  15. Awesome indeed.
  16. Looks good to me.

    Roush #16

Nice job. I remember that car. I liked it too, but I did think they could have broke up some of the blue on the front. A little too solid compared to the rest of the paint scheme.
  19. Welcome, anytime. Those are pretty pricey compared to others they sell, but what can you do when you need 30 year old decals. I'm not sure where I found that site at. I gave it to a friend and he bought some bodies from them to do some trans am type cars. He said the stuff showed up pretty fast and it looked really nice. I have not ordered from them yet, but I will in the next few days when I get my order worked up and sent in. Nice thing is, they will make them either in decal form or peel and stick form.

  21. That's an interesting way to mold those. I'll have to try that some time.
  22. Great job. Love it.
  23. Huh ?? lol.
  24. Looks good. Love the tire details.
  25. Just using that as an example. Most put the load in the center. When they weigh they trucks they weight all the wheels and you are only allowed so much weight on each wheel at a total of 80,000 lbs. If you center the load it spreads the weight out more evenly. I ran both 48 and 53 ft van trailers. They were usually loaded front to back anyways, so I did not run into that too much.
