  1. To me its soft and has to dry for quite a while..A week at least..It its touched many times it does get dull and I would think rub off..
  2. Very nicely done and strange two tone especially on a low based model..Very clean and like someone else said make sure you display at shows with a mirror base..Excellent work..
  3. You're good to go just the way it is..Love it and very clean too..
  4. Lee Iacocca got the best he could do with making different cars on the same platforms..He did the same when he was with Chrysler too..
  5. What paint did you use for the signal lites and head lights?
  6. Steven, to get off course, it was good talking to you and your wife, just wished we could have BS"d a little more during the afternoon..Met some others from here but names don't come that easy now with age..Uncle Scott 58 I do remember..Hope your trip home was good because I stayed at my daughters and rained all time there with huge winds..All way to Winnipeg today,Wednesday..Great show and CONGRATULATIONS on our Club Award..That Ford is out of this world..How you do such builds is an understatement..I hear you used to play with plaster, I might have to hire you to come to Winnipeg and correct my house walls..LOL
  7. I remember meeting you but I too can't remember faces..I look like my avator but with slighly shorter hair..Black shirt..Hope to see you win another one of our road worthy awards..Lookin' forward to seeing the Imperial..
  8. Steve, hope you are bringing something to NNL North on Sunday..Look for the old grey haired short fat guy with the Winnipeg Model Car Club black BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH..I more than likely will be sitting at a table..Sorry to hi-jack the thread..
  9. Sure would like to see a model of Neil Bonnet's Armor All Dodge Magnum..Come on Salvino Bros..Lets do some Magnums..There were a few running at times..You could do Kyle Petty's ARCA winner too..
  10. I guess, but realistically how many variations of any one of those can you make? If you can't get more than one copy it will never happen..Its just the way the model business is today..
  11. Sure would have to be some adventurous guy with very deep pockets and tons of skill or connections..Would be nice when finished if it was possible..
  12. Too bad he had back problems and had to retire..I know he drove at first for Petty Enterprises then Cotton Owens but after I didn't know..He was a good wheel man with some talent..I also know he was involved with Petty on the Kit Car stuff, or was it Jim Millican?
  13. Sorry to hear of your misfortunes in life and goings on, but there is one thing you haven't lost..Your skill and building of model cars..Excellent and clean work, well done..
  14. Thanks, It an old smaller can of Duplicolor Lacquer, some light Ford blue..Was close to Mopar blue so I used it..Who's going to know the difference..Big mistake on the Plymouth, I didn't sand out the dimples on the truck or fill them or the one on the front of the fender..No filler..Oh well, it is what it is..Not changing it now..
  15. I just painted one that I bought from a guy in our club for $5.00..Its going to be a box stock build..In the picture also is a 62 Plymouth..I only have this picture of the Chev with the Plymouth..This is an older issure with tail lights molded in..A guy in our club brought a 64 Chev(AMT) to a meeting with just parts in the box..I scored the firewall, radiator and rad hose..Now I'am set..LOL I build simple because of dexterity and patience..Wish I could do as some, but just don't have it anymore after a stroke and being 71 yrs old..
  16. Bucky I think its just a BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH shoot with Krylon..That why I was a little doubtful of using it..I liked the yellow so I tried it and it came out okay..Will be worried again when I try it another color but why not..
  17. I shot for the first time ever Krylon Fusion over Duplicolor sandable grey primer..Went on smooth the shot with Duplicolor Acrylic Enamel(tall black label can) I was worried but came out good..Dry quick and smells like lacquer but smooth like enamel..Week and half later wet sand 2000 then 4000 then polish with Meguiar's Scratch X2.0 then finish with Meguiar's Gold class paste..Its the yellow car in the picture...Both cars were cleared with the Duplicolor Acrylic Enamel..and polished the same..
  18. Mighty fine work..
  19. WOW! How many Best of Show awards and Paint awards have you won with that car??VERY CLEAN..SUPER JOB..
  20. Any shade of gold is hard to paint..I find silver or light metallic blue or other light metallics are hard..They show everything..Your car looks well done and you should be proud of your work..Its very good..I'll show you mine I did around 1996..
  21. WOW! Never knew Sam Posey drove one NASCAR race..
  22. NOT the way I prefer my 70 Challenger, but the work is OUTSTANDING..EXCELLENT EXECUTATION..Every thing is perfect..VERY WELL DONE....
  23. Sport Fury in 65 and 66 came with skirts..
  24. I used to buy Hemmings Motor Journal in the late 70-80s..About a year ago I looked in one and thought just for chance I'd phone an ad I had circled for a 62 Cadillac..Number worked and the guy still had it..Small world, it wasn't for sale now, he gave it to his grand son who restored it..
