  1. I've been working on this for quite a while..Never did resin before and all is new..Chassis and body didn't work well so got friend who has dremel to shave some off the bottom of front fenders..It worked..I painted it 65 Dodge Dark Turquoise Metallic out of bomb made by auto paint shop.. Cleared with Duplicolor Acrylic Enamel then wet sand 2000-4000..Finished with Meguiar's Scratch X 2.0 then Maguiar's Gold Class paste..Tried the UV gluing in glass and worked(Bondic, Canadian Brand) Interior sprayed from distance same as car..So far so good but I don't work too much on same because I don't want to lose patience..Hope picture shows well..Can't remember brand of resin kit..
  2. Scott, on a different topic how about any news on NNL North..
  3. Had a girlfriend who's father had a company car of one of those..He was a beer salesman..It was a bright gold with a beige vinyl interior..Nice car, even got to drive it once and a while..Sure was a Yacht..Much bigger than my parents 66 Fury....
  4. Mine is an older rendition(Bill Jenkins car) so far so good but heard the front suspension some people say it difficult..Thing I did notice the coil springs don't sit straight up but at a slight angle(maybe the way it should be, I'am a Mopar guy so I don't really know but it just doesn't look right) On the sour note on the kit, mine has a slight warp that will be straighted out when I super glue the chassis to the body..Mine's a definate WIP because I work on it very sparingly but maybe more because of home isolation..Its been three years..Bodwork/Paint/and foil by "the KIng". I putter around on it once in a while..
  5. Fantastic build..Mentioned we would see it at NNL North this year, hoping its still on..Might not get there tho as the border may not be open for travel..If it is and the show is a go, we'll be there..
  6. Used to that in my basement with a 2 x 8 sheet of plywood.First car to line wins..4 cars at a time..Run multiple heats, lined up behind one another according to points..Held front car with yard stick then go..Every saturday..50cents per car and winner in points at end of 2 months took half money second took 3/4 of left and 3rd got the rest..Had six friends..We were 10-12 yrs old..Great fun weekly..
  7. In that comment it was my real car..Late Current Restored class...
  8. In a judged show for example, there are 20 Box Stock builds in the class..A judge can litterly pick out the top 8-10 cars that would qualify then just judge them..A good judge can see what is nice, clean and nice paint and a clean build..Same in all classes..Don't say it hasn't been done because I know it does get done..Best judges are the NNL shows with top 10s picked by peers..And only three choices for the whole contest..Not in separate classes..As done at NNL North in Minnesota..
  9. I used to put my 70 GTX in World of Wheels..The promoter at that time said brightly colored cars and must have eye appeal..Dark colors with black interiors don't do it..Good paint is a must and I again mention clean..In models you must have a flawless build even if you are putting it on the table..You can detail the BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH out of it but if it doesn't get the eye(nice paint or something different) people won't look at it..I build box stock and I've been lucky to have made a magazine a few times..Its got to be eye catching to be seen..Cleanliness is the main thing..If box stock, leave the hood closed..When you take pictures of cars at shows(real and models) you like to see WHOLE cars, not one with hood up..but if you've detailed under hood and hood is displayed nicely it works..If you show car with hood on make sure it matches the body..Little things like that..Steering wheels straight and wheels all touching ground..Cleanliness again is the major thing to make sure..
  10. Unbelievable work..WOW a masterpiece..Living in Winnipeg I can appreciate the build..We had a guy who had a green/pale yellow 56..Show car..I love you SDs but like the 56 better because of the grill..
  11. Gregn notice you live in Winnipeg..How about coming to our meeting this Sunday at St.Alphonsos Church bingo hall..Its on Monroe off Henderson Highway..11:00 till 1:00 See me at the front table..I look like my avatar..Hope to see you..We have some good buys at the meeting too..
  12. I know by seeing Steven's other creations that Imperial will be done up right..
  13. As some one said Basin Street Blue 1971 color, maybe for a few years..Also called Corporate Blue..
  14. There is a pony car(Mustang) full size car(Chevy) and a intermediate (Plymouth) all three racing together..
  15. Do the headlights come with lens or did you paint them with some kind of paint? Let me know, they look real sweet..
  16. I'd leave as is, looks good to me..Don't press your luck..Very nice..Leave it alone..
  17. Seeing the question was already done by opening the grill, I use Tamiya Smoke..Just brush it on and its done..
  18. Hoping to see this fantastic creation at the NNL North this year..Phenominal work..
  19. In Winnipeg Canada its called AWSOME and can only buy it at Dollar Tree..Not any of the other dollar stores or Home Depot or Lowes..
  20. Wow, very nice..That burgundy paint looks like the Pactra N'amel from the sixties..Sure is nice and clean and real retro..
  21. Looks just like it came out of the model factory from one of the model companies..Just another example of what Ezmerlian Customs can do..Dennis is the Foose of model builders..
  22. Looking forward to seeing what you brink..I know it will be spectacular..
  23. Its nice to see the progress on the net because it larger and can see the workmanship put into the car..The work by Steve is unreal..It will be a very nice to see this project complete and on the table at NNL North in May in Bloomington Mn..Excellent progress so far..
  24. When done painting,if you use a coat hanger method, hang it up..Dust lands and doesn't go upward..I've been doing that for years..Hang on a line so the dust doesn't settle..
  25. I like your imagination and your building skills are on top..Very well done even though strange looking..Looks like a car some one would do for World of Wheels show..Nicely thought out..
