  1. Ace....... Lots of good thoughts there........ All my ebay sales, which were in the 1000's, were via USPS but one....a 29 Ford front axle via UPS. And the USPS did a good job for the price paid. The thing that kills them is inconsistency....a package from WV to CA gets there overnight.....same size package takes a week to get from WV to NC???? No one thinks about all those that go smooth.....but the bad ones are so unreal.
  2. Sorry.....logistics has some validity.....Still ain't buying it 100%. Lets take UPS....package ships from Chicago area. Ends up in Charleston WV. Then is sent to Roanoke VA.....my issue??? The UPS center my packages are delivered from is 10 yards off I-64 at Caldwell WV.....which our truck passes by on the way to Roanoke. Why not pallet Caldwell stuff and drop it?? Caldwell is literally on the I-64 exit ramp!!! No my package passes my house and the UPS depot only to be sent back on the same road to Caldwell....and adds a day!! Also add my package has now passed within 50 miles of my house 3 times before being put on a truck. My years as a analyst will not allow me to say this is the very best method available.
  3. Dad lived 5 miles up the same road I live on. If I sent him a birthday card it traveled 2+ hours away to Charleston and then back to his house.....LOGISTICS!!
  4. SOP.....they call it 'logistics'!!!!I had a package that got stuck in a Cinnci - Lexington - Charleston loop...it made 3 laps!!!!
  5. Wife was traveling today and saw a new Ollie's in Dunrbar WV. She hit the mother lode!!!! Ivo, Surfite, Hayes TBird, Slingster dragster, 48 Ford and 90 Mustang cop car!!!! Thank God my wife grew up in a house full of model builders....she gets it and picked them all up, multiples, for me!!!! Happy guy here!!!!
  6. Salem Va......normal stuff...boats, planes and Bugatti...... and 2 cases of Civil War guns....Ollie's better hope those are made from chocolate. I'd buy one if the go down to $3.....but not $30.
  7. Traveling Thursday....will stop by a Ollies....
  8. Nice!!
  9. It SHOULD be the restored kit we did with RC2 via Model King. Generic on the box top but I put a number of real car decals in the kit. Model King paid to restore the kit....body was badly damaged. Also missing a number of parts which were retooled.
  10. Jelly Beans as we in Charlotte called them!!! The current cars (bodys) are all related to Dodge Chargers......funny how they picked a brand that left the sport!!!
  11. Were did you see these???? I had talked to John about the Monte Carlo for a while......
  12. Yea....I know.....just thought the 70's era cast wheels the P/S guys used were much cooler.
  13. Sorry.....never liked them in 1/1 or model.....seemed bland to me.
  14. Not all of us.....got a GTX and a Jukebox Ford but the rest was Lindberg stuff....I need a 48 Ford.....want to build my 46 in scale!!
  15. Doubt wee will ever know........but the last few kit dumps have included all brands.....the Revell Midgets??? And R2 has had some kits most dumps too. Kinda sounds like a big distributor.....maybe like J Loyd wholesale div.......something along those lines.
  16. Takes 30 seconds to open a post at times......not consistent....but a pain at times.
  17. I built up the 4 x 4 chassis back during early development of the kit. But it was a fast glue up, no paint to check fit and finish. And we couldn't show at the time. Buy up this version so the other versions they want to do will come to be. The 4 x 4 stuff is very nice BTW.
  18. We raced a 510 for one year in SCCA then switched to a 260Z. But I like 510's
  19. Interesting stuff....not sure how much I'll buy....thx
  20. Very very cool!!! I collect Hot Wheels and have done a few 1/25 builds....but kit based......
  21. I'd say your store got the bulk of the really good stuff.......I'd bought one each of those for sure....
  22. Thanks!! this old guys needs it!!!
  23. With arthritis, macular degeneration and dyslexia EDIT is pretty vital to me......
  24. It's still not that easy.....there is a thing called 'Trade Dress' that is protected by the person or company that invented aid item. So if you were to issue the Taurus stock car without OK from Ford they could come after you for infringement......weather you use 'FORD' or not. Todays NASCAR race cars are owned by NASCAR rather than Ford, Chevy or Toyota. They can, and did, give permission to Revell for the snap kits and coming glue kits. Revell still needs OK from Ford but that is being coordinated by NASCAR. Nothing is easy today. Don't even open the 'consumer protection Act' and what it requires on packaging. thx
  25. I lived in LA for 10 years.......Stay in So Cal for a month each year. And I have survived a few '100 year' floods....so I feel I can poke some fun. But 15% chance of showers is NOT severe weather. We had hard rain / sleet and snow last night....we still survived drive narrow winding roads for an hour in it....and LIVED!!!
