That's an old tool and it was during some 'not so good' days when Revell was owned by a toy company and kits suffered. If it's really important to you ask here first...someone will have the scoop.

California is REALLY tough on small businesses from what friends that run such in CA tell me. That is not helping really small shops like hobby shops. They get thrown into the same rules as HUGE retailers do.

Most retailers should have them by now. They shipped from Moebius last week. I got mine last Thursday. GREAT kit BTW.

As soon as my Flock Hudson kit is finished......I'll be waiting on the 300!!!

Here is my version. Not 100% correct but a quick build to see what the new Revell kit was like. Yours looks like it will be more correct...good luck....

MCW did a 77 Bird NASCAR body that is pretty stock shape...it would need work to make a street stock car. He also does a number of Torino Montego Cougar bodies but no 77-78 Cougar. Check them out.

The DE Sr 'pink' car was pink!.....but it was a 55-56 Ford Vicki....use the recent Model King 56 Ford to build one.

Check www.walthers.com they have many sizes and voltage small bulbs.

How about a model car video??? This was the AMS 1990 convention that was hosted by our club 'The Road Knights' in Charlotte NC....the video show just a small part of the convention. We had shop tours, manufacture displays, a trip to the real Holman Moody (now gone) good stuff......

Lindberg is a mix of a number of companies. None of their stuff is 'Trash' like a old Palmer kit. Some are MUCH better than others......... Lindberg 66 Chevy built as a stock car...GREAT kit...no real build issues..... Old school Lindberg?? This is a old 'bad' kit from the early 60's...not perfect..but a fun build! For the kit BUILDER and not someone that just glues stuff together...most of the kits are a good start.... Just IMHO only!!

While the chassis in the Model King kit is not correct for that car it can be built to a decent shelf model. I have a 'hints' section that shows a few things you can do to build a nice shelf model....and the 4 Model King kits I have completed are in the 2008 builds. hints and builds...

The funniest thing is that Tom Mills has been producing this stuff since the late 70s!!!! His market is promo collectors, not serious scale model car builders. Think of it as folk art and you'll be OK with it. I got the bustleback 70s Seville from him in the early 80s and was not real excited about the quality That's what I don't get.....he's been doing it forever! Now I did see a 1981 Imperial converted to a Buddy Arrington Cup race car....but it was a ton of work. Some of his recent stuff looks a lot better....he has been selling a 68 Mustang coupe on ebay with a real interior, promo style cast chassis. I have a 1/1 68 coupe and would love to have it....but until I see it in person...no. Anyone seen this kit????

Don't hold out for a plastic kit of the COToday.....NASCAR wants $$, Manufactures want $$, Teams want $$$$ and each driver wants $$$....so a kit would have to cost $50....and thus they could not sell enough to cover cost and make a profit. Look to resin guys or convert die cast.

Great build...have that kit on the way....mine will be a 50's era racer...but not as detailed as well as yours. It was a decent kit back in its metal days...hope it still is.

From what I understand none of the model companies were set up at Toy Fair this year.

Revell.................. Built both....like the Revell much more.....

No problem here......my wife came from a model building family so she knew what she was getting into (well not EVERYTHING!) She puts up with my 5000+ kits well....although she wonders why I need a kit in the kitchen! The other side...I put up with her show cats...MANX show cats.....

4. amt's Chrysler 300 C a great model but wrong size appx. 1/23 instead of 1/25 Are you sure about that?? I have built two of them, really like it. But if it is out of scale so is the Revell Dodge Magnum as it scales out EXACTLY the same. Strange two different compaines would scale a all new kit in 1/23 scale?? I think I'll check the model out with a 1/1 today and see....... UPDATED....Per specifications by Road & Track magazine, my two AMT built Chrysler 300's and a digital caliper....the model scales out to within .003 actual inches for all external dimentions. 1/25 scale in my book.........just a FYI

Then there are the kits that were executed well but were conceptually the "Worst Kit Idea Ever". My vote goes to most of the early 70s AMT Showrods. Royal Rail, Depth Charger, Stogie something or other. Man, those were turds! How about MPC's Elegant Farmer and Jolly Roger? AMTs Quarter Mile Smile, the Jimmy Carter Funny car? MPC's Gridiron Grabber and Hardhat Hauler do not have one useful part on them! I agree!! I am now allowing all these kits to be sent to me for disposal!! I will see that they get 'taken care of'!! The AMT F&F Nissan wheels are bad but the rest was OK....and built well.....With the correct whaeels it was a decent model of the car in the movie! The EVO was not a model of the movie car and was a little off in a number of areas.
