  1. I looked up Foster's Lager internet home page, and it has a blue background. Here is the address: https://www.fostersbeer.com/av?url=https://www.fostersbeer.com/# I would attempt an eyeball match to this color. Hope this helps.
  2. I recently purchased a Martini decal set for a Porsche 997. Is the Fujimi 911 GT3 R the best model kit to use? Is there a way to make the Tamiya 911GT3 into the R version. Any advice from those knowledgeable in all things Porsche would be greatly appreciated.
  3. Thanks Greg. I am familiar with the tractor kits and they are quite well done.
  4. Some help with Revell's terminology please. Does "Easy-Click" mean a Snap Kit or the Lego style building block kit?
  5. Rob, I guess the solution is that I may just have to up my game in terms of the number of kits I buy at one time. ? Erik, you are right. Even with eBay, I'm never in a rush to receive deliveries. With SAL, delivery was usually around two weeks. This order arrived in seven days. I know that duty/tariffs are out of HLJ's control. I was spoiled in my earlier orders because they used to just slip through without being tagged. I think that the wheel sets still ended up being cheaper; probably the kits as well. I know for a fact that the decal sets would not have been available at my lhs. I've got to watch myself! Complaining for the sake of complaining... not a good thing! LOL Will post my acquisitions tomorrow.
  6. A couple of weeks back, I was enticed by a HLJ sale notification. My hobby spending has been significantly lower since the start of C****-19, so I thought, why not. I purchased a mixture of kits, wheel sets and decals to the tune of $210.18. Forgetting that SAL and other low cost options are not available, the choice was UPS or FEDEX. I chose FEDEX. The shipping cost was $52.71, which I was not exactly happy with. Today I received my delivery notice for package pick up. The amount due is $36.88, which I assume is what they calculated as duty/tariffs. When combining shipping plus duty, this amounts to 43% upcharge over the cost of the product. Needless to say, no more HLJ orders from me until they can provide low cost (non-UPS, non-FEDEX) shipping alternatives again. The only good in this order, is that the FEDEX location is only a few kilometres from my house. LOL
  7. Just saw this. Hope it isn't a duplicate posting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3wdeKJsoWs
  8. First the new Tamiya Senna McLaren, and now this transkit from C1. I just ordered 3. One for myself and two others for good friends who are also fellow members of this forum.
  9. Most of my stash are Japanese sports or racing car kits, (Tamiya, Fujimi, Hasagawa, Aoshime, Ebbro) and I have more tah a few duplicates. The buying of duplicates really slowed down when Tamiya kits went north of $60 Canadian. Apparently this has not been enough to stop me from adding more kits to my stash. LOL
  10. This should keep you in Porsche + 1 building nirvana for quite some time. Very nice acquisition.
  11. I know a a livery that it won't be. The From A car. The color, if that is the color coat, looks to be for the Leyton House car.
  12. A bonus is that the Russian GP should be over by then!
  13. I was given this kit by a good friend, 64comet404 (Ken Nesbitt), who is also a forum member here. I am always pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of kits that you build. If and when you get to this one, i will gladly follow along.
  14. I'm partial to the art of those Aurora 1/32 hotrod kits as well. They were some of my first ventures into plastic modeling.
  15. I'm really glad that this helped. Inventorying the contents was a good idea. Replacing both the instructions and decals/stickers would be ideal. Minimum the decals/stickers.
  16. Scott, here is a link to download page for the Porsche instructions. https://downloads.revell.de/Manuals-Modelkits/07679_%23BAU_PORSCHE_356_TYPB.PDF
  17. Based on past threads, I'm not sure if they would be considered reputable. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/132958-discounts-on-tamiya-products-poof-gone/
  18. https://atlantis-models.com/ Took less than a minute with a Google search.
  19. In my mind, the two most significant LHS for the Greater Toronto Area are: Wheels and Wings Hobbies 1880 Danforth Avenue Toronto, ON M4C 1J4 and Dailey Hobbies 9 Carlow Ct Whitby, ON L1N 9T7
  20. Tom, I've got a small surprise to give you as a gesture of thanks for all of the years of enjoyment that are associated with this event. I know there are hundreds(?) of individuals with involvement, however you are the"face" of the event to me.
  21. Greg (NOBLING), I guess that I must be somewhat on the other end of the spectrum from you. I do enjoy going to swap meets, flea markets and using coupons. However, a group of us make the pilgrimage to the NNL East on an annual basis. We do buy numerous kits and resin pieces there. When you factor in meals along the way, hotel expense and cost of gas, we really are overspending for the items we buy. Going to the NNL East goes way beyond buying kits. It is the fun of an extended road trip. It is the wonderful experience of the NNL and the hospitality of the Tri-State model groups (Diversified Scalerz as well) and all of the fantastic people that you might only see once a year. So in this respect, a few of the kits that I have purchased have been a little bit on the expensive side of things! LOL
  22. Thank you for the replies. Nacho Z, I used to participate on Facebook, but have not for quite some time. Maybe I should reboot my Facebook activity by updating/modifying my settings. There is, no doubt, a lot of good information that can be obtained through Facebook. Tom, all of the points you mentioned are excellent and seem to be grounded in common sense. I am familiar with the Tamiya kit that my friend Peter is building, and fit should be no issue. I also know that he and I went on a shopping trip to Dailey Hobbies so that he would have the Tamiya LP paints required. Since this is his first foray into this event, I am wishing him all the best. Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts, and I will be cheering on all those individuals and teams that hit the start button on Saturday!
  23. I am not partisipating this year, however a good friend of mine is (peter31a on this board). I believe that Tom has a "system" that works for him. Are there any hints/suggestions/pointers that some of the 24h veterans can offer up for new guys trying this daunting task?
  24. The exterior paint and interior color choice compliment each other. A clean build that could pass for the real thing. Well done.
