What did you see on the road today?

Thanks Scott, The blue car pictured is a McLaren. As to the model, I think it is a P1, but I'm not positive. -

BC in general and Vancouver specifically are so beautiful. I would happily move there if only I could afford it. -

Purchases made from August 12 through 19, while in the Vancouver / Richmond area of BC. A shout out to gman (Greg Peters) who gave me LHS recommendations. On Sunday I decided to set out from Richmond and make the rounds to all three shops. Arrived at Burnaby Hobbies only to discover that it was closed on Sunday and Monday. The same was true of MagicBox Hobbies. So I ended back at Imperial Hobbies. This is a huge hobby shop with a good selection of everything (comics, figures, Gundam and all categories of kits). I was a little disappointed in that the JDM car kit selection was pretty sparse at the time of my visit. I did pick up the two recently issued Porsche kits. This was the first time I had seen them in NA boxes. Later in the week, I made it to MagicBox Hobbies. What an amazing hobby shop. They carried RC as well as kits. The JDM section was vastly better than that of Imperial. What really grabbed my attention was the tools / supplies section. I did not go wild, but only grabbed the NuNu MP4/2C.

Thanks Greg. I will start with Imperial Hobbies. If I get a chance, I will look into Burnaby Hobbies and Magic Box Hobbies. My main focus is my daughter's wedding. After that, hobby shopping will come next! LOL Again, thanks for the suggestions. -

1964 Comet Crash - Opinions?
Bill Eh? replied to Sledsel's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I can't believe all of the red flags that the driver/builder ignored, immediately before the accident occurred. The fact that he knew the brakes were substandard before taking the car out was telling as well. -
You're in a good position right now, as far as projects go. I do hope you come across one of those Tamiya kits in the future. Many years ago, I spent time building the KTM kit with a nephew. Don't know about the other two, but the KTM kit is awesome.

I have purchased from a few Japanese vendors on eBay, and never had a problem. I have even lucked in on some with free shipping. They have been legitimate. Free shipping usually means they are charging more, for the same kit, as some of their competitors. Mind you, free shipping means that it is going to be sent the cheapest (read slowest) way possible. If you aren't in a hurry, that doesn't matter. The longest I have ever waited was 19 weeks, for purchase from Hobby Search. They are a relatively big-name, non-eBay seller. I had given up on the order, but was pleasantly surprised in the end. one thing that has been consistent in all of my purchases from Japan is how well they have been packed.

If you're not in a rush, the best option might be to find one/them on a contest vendor's table, or at a swap meet.. Right now I'm personally anticipating the return of the NNL East in 2023! There are always many amazing vendors that I will gladly give my $$$ to. LOL

Mike, I believe that those particular Tamiya motorcycle kits are long out of production. They would most likely only be available from private sellers, through eBay or Facebook Marketplace. Since they are out of production, they will most likely command a high price.
