    Dann, thanks for your your recommendation and the confirmation of their durability. I bought a tube of Old Bronze at my lhs. They are a little expensive at $18 a tube after tax. It will be interesting to compare with Vallejo's Real Metal Color acrylic line.

    Dann, I recall seeing some sheets of mesh at a lhs that specialized in Gundam style kits. I believe that the mesh was made by the Japanese company Wave. This was a couple of years ago. Not sure if they have different opening configurations. I would suggest doing a search on either Hobby Link Japan or Hobby Search, looking at the Wave product line. I hope this helps a little.

    Thanks Cameron for that information. Definitely correct in that pigment scale can have an impact. I have a few tubes of Winsor and Newton colours. I think I will buy some matched colours made by Abteilung to see if there is any discernible difference in pigment or consistency.

    Cameron, I have looked at those Abteilung oil paints at a my LHS. They are far more expensive that getting a name brand oil paint such as Winsor and Newton. Even an art supply retailer might have their own house line of oil paints. Why did you opt for these? I am also curious as to the ease of use of those AK True Metals.

    Just curious Christian, does Rustins manufacture the Humbrol line of paint, or do they serve has a warehousing facility?

    I have just had a great trading experience with Terry Schmalriede (Renegade). He was a great trader to deal with and provided me with a list of trading material that he would happy with.     Tamiya Titanium Gold comes pretty close, Available in enamel and acrylic. There are a variety of other metallic colours available. I really like the the Vallejo acrylic line called "Metal Color".

    Well done Tulio! It looks great. I hope you have a proud sense of accomplishmnt in the restoration of this model. Do you think you might find another one to do a sibling build up?

    Tulio, I would definitely consider this as a "once in a lifetime" event. As such, I would take pictues of the parts as they exist now. I would then suggest that you work your magic to restore the car to the condition that it was in when you gave it to your friend.

    James, every time I watch your Stash Report, I am in total amazement of all the prime Japanese kits that you have. I know that I will never get to all of mine ... how can you possibly complete all of yours?
