  1. Gary, some of those bottles must be quite old. It has been a very l-o-n-g time since those larger size Tamiya bottles have been available in stores around here! LOL
  2. I'm probably reading to much into this, but "Win A Ride" indicates to me an RC product. On the up side, RC products are sometime indicators of 1/24 plastic kits that might also get released.
  3. It would be nice if they came out before the NNL East rolls around. I will probably buy 2, as well as a 2nd Beswick car. LOL
  4. I picked up the Beswick kit back in November at the Detroit show. I wish I had gotten a couple. Could the delay of the Dyno Don version be a result of Moebius now being in Pegasus' hands?
  5. Not trying to be smart aleck, but does not the pinned topic "Buying my first airbrush Questions", serve the same purpose. I think the thing that annoys me the most, is the number of people who sign-on to the form, ask a question/opinion, and are never heard from again. LOL
  6. Gregg has made it more than clear as to his position on this. No selling on the board. Trading section works just fine.
  7. But it has been reduced by 20%. And it has easy payments of ONLY $193 for 24 months. What more could you ask for? LOL
  8. fumi, I never thought of it this way before...you are so right! LOL
  9. Hi Richard, Douglas and Ken have given you some options to consider. I only started following F-1 in '76 when I attended my first two GPs. I have been following ever since. My stash of F-1 kits (1/24, 1/20 and 1/12; Tamiya, Fujimi, Heller, Protar, and ?) falls into the more-than-enough-for-my-lifetime category. LOL
  10. Tom, Dale and Pete thank you for your detailed explanations. So, although flat paints have the required "tooth" for a colour coat, they unto themselves do not have the necessary adhesion characteristics required to sufficiently stick to the bare plastic surface. I will stick with purpose-made primers, before spraying any acrylic colour/top coats over them. I appreciate this forum for the generosity of the members in taking the time to share their knowledge.
  11. I paint mostly with acrylics. Is there a specific component of acrylic primer which sets it apart from using, say a flat grey or flat white acrylic paint? Does anyone just prime with an acrylic (name your colour) flat coat before applying their acrylic colour coat? My apologies for being lazy. I guess I just need to do a spoon test to find out the answer to this question. I hope all of my fellow forum members are having a happy and restful holiday break.
  12. Luminess systems typically use airbrushes made by Sparmax. Sparmax does make good quality airbrushes. Even though they are gravity fed, the color cup is usually of a smaller capacity. The part that I would question would be the "compressor". They are designed to output a lower psi, as they are only required to apply makeup. They also do not have any pressure adjustment capability, or the ability to trap moisture. I would also suggest saving for something better, as this product might only lead to frustration, and then giving up entirely on airbrushing. Just my 2 cents.
  13. This is a link to a build-up of the Tamiya Ford GT, as done by Andy of Andy's Hobby Headquarters. An amazing kit, due out in January 2019.
  14. Tiago is a member here. He has an awesome Youtube channel, TM Modelkits , where he chronicles his builds through video. You should check his channel out.
  15. But Paul, nowadays Tamiya uses 1/20 for F-1 cars! JK
  16. I'll probably get two of this kit, along with the Revell full detail 2016 LeMans car.
  17. Tom, just a heads up for you. This is a great kit to build, and is unique as an F1 car. It does originate from the days when Tamiya used battery powered electric motors. The structure of the model does still include a battery compartment and a plastic insert which served as the battery compartment door. Bill A.
  18. Thanks Will. It looks great. Mine languishes in a box. I really need to get back at it. I don't believe my "yellow" is correct either. LOL It is a 50/50 blend of Mr. Color Yellow and Orange.
  19. I am curious Will as to how you dealt with the standard fins that were part of Hasagawa's 962 body. Did you use a Dremel type tool to grind them off? Or was it slice and file smooth? They look just right!

  21. Well done Dan. Outstanding models, all of them. I really like your Big Truck award winner!
  22. Jason, Perry's Resin was Randy Frost's resin company. You will find lots of postings about it. Randy is now the proprietor of Dailey Hobbies in Whitby, ON https://www.daileyhobbies.com/ I am sure he has Facebook presence. I saw Randy at the Group 25 Model Car contest, this past weekend. I am not sure as to how much time he dedicates to Perry's Resin at this point. He would probably be able to answer any questions related to this trans kit.
  23. Dan, big congratulations on the "Bonus Stuff". Hopefully, when pictures get uploaded, I will get a chance to see the related built kits! LOL
  24. I agree with Scott. When I packed kits to sell at a show, my cardboard boxes (2' x 2' x 2') held from 20 to 25 kits. I would consider keeping about 1/3 of what you own. Choose the kits you really like. This might end up occupying one carton. The other 2/3, I would bundle into lots of say 5 kits. You could then sell them as bundles. Keep the contents of a bundle themed, such as all muscle cars. Vary the desirability of the kits within each bundle. Some of high value and some average. If the equipment does not take up a lot of space, I would just hold onto it and take it with you. Hope this helps.
  25. Definitely the G25 show. Undecided about the London show. The London show is the same day as the Ottawa show.
