  1. Andy has a Youtube channel called Andy's Hobby Headquarters. He has many videos. His main focus is on armor and aircraft. His build quality is top notch as are his videos.
  2. David, you are so right. A group I participate in, has the use of a room inside a Michael's for meetings. On my first time attending, I had to check out the model section. The car selection was disappointing. I almost picked up Revell's 1/48 Strike Eagle. With coupon, it would have been $26 + tax. Tax in Ontario is pretty steep at 13%. I rummaged through the kits for a bit longer and found a C7R pushed to the back of a shelf, behind other kits. Now that was more like it. With coupon and tax, it came to $20 and change. i was lucky on that one. Not much else was really current. A friend told me that it has been over a year since there was a reset. I guess they really are not focused on the model building hobbyist.
  3. When I was tempted by one, it was more for the wheels and tires. Although I had not seen them, I assumed they might be passable. in the end, never did get one. That Mercedes V12 looks more than crude to put it kindly. You might be insulting the recipient car. LOL
  4. Dan, here is a rather twisted thought. Why not just build it as it is. No putty, no filling, no sanding. Let the parts fit/glue together as they may. This will actually display the pure quality of this masterpiece of a kit. A while back, my LHS had stacks of the LEE version of this kit. I can't remember the exact price they were asking for it. It was $10 or less. They just sat there and sat there. They practically couldn't even give them way. They sell a lot of Tamiya product at that LHS, so car guys were well aware of questionable origins of the kit.
  5. Whhhaaaat .... he drives a Ford!
  6. Mike now you got me thinking. I can see potential victims in a 'Sharknado' diorama.
  7. I had the same issue. I typed the word "photobucket" in the search line, and the link came up right away. I have installed it ... now it is time to try it out. Yes, it works for me.
  8. I believe you Ken. It would be so easy and so reasonable that I would have to start a Chapter of HLJ/Hobby Search Anonymous. LOL
  9. Thanks for the link Ron. I keep forgetting that Hobby Search always as pictures of both kit instructions and the parts trees. It does look like it will build up into a nice finished 911 RSR.
  10. Man, am I jealous Ron. Maybe if I make room on my credit card, I can start ordering from HLJ or similar. I buy Revell kits from my LHS, but Japanese kit pricing is prohibitive. Would it be possible to get a peek at what's inside the RSR box please?
  11. Here's wishing you a great B-Day. I always appreciate the informative content that you provide in the Stash Report!
  12. I totally agree with Bill. Besides, it will really help if you intend to use primer. The pink color will really "pop" when painted over white instead of the primer coat!
  13. Extremely nice masking and paint job on this iconic 956. Well done! John Winter was Louis Krages, a German businessman/racer. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_Krages NewMan was a French label of men's fashion clothing. Sorry, no secret identity here.
  14. Thanks for your reply. Sounds like Donn Yost's painting method.
  15. Fantastic model. The Stop Light Red Metallic really sets it off. If you don't mind me asking, did you use primer underneath? If so what colour? Also, aluminum tube exhaust pipe?
  16. Your chosen colour and the stripes complement each other. Excellent fix on the windshield. An excellent build to be proud of!
  17. Looks amazing. Why don't you also do Tamiya's Enzo. That would make a nice side by side display.
  18. Interesting name for the car. Project mu?
  19. Nice save Andre. Your stable of Porsches is growing. I'm following along with your 962
  20. Jim, when I opened the link, I saw a flag at the top, just right of center. I clicked on it and was able to choose the British flag to get an English translation. Hope this might also work for you.
  21. These may be hard to find. Both are 1/43 resin kits. One made by Graphyland and another by Provence Miniatures.
