  1. See my thread in the kit reviews section.
  2. Those are true survivors. The barn finds of the model world. I would dust them off and let them be.

    67 CAMARO

I was thinking the same thing - a Chevy Fireball 500.
  4. Looks pretty close to me. I knew it was just a matter of time before someone used a character from The Big Bang Theory as an avatar.
  5. Dual filler caps eh...was wondering what they were. Thank you.
  6. It would have been nice if they had thrown in some gasser parts and a cammer motor but I guess we are fortunate to get what we get in todays economy.
  7. Yeah Slusher, everything that I have photographed comes in the box.
  8. Next up are the sprues. The chrome parts: Note that I removed one stock wheel cover from the sprue. Everything else you see is what you get. Not much flash but the plating could be cleaner (as usual). The body and chassis: Again some flash but not too bad. The only sink marks are some shallow ones on top of the front fenders. A convertible boot is included and I believe the interior bucket is for a convertible: The decals: The horse head flames aren't bad and the Mr Gasket and M&H decals are useful. What the heck is "green broke" supposed to mean? Other than the tires, I see nothing that looks as if it has been tweaked or retooled . Maybe just some sprue swapping from other kits? There is a blower belt but no blower and the covered spare which had to have come from another kit. This is all you get except for the clear window unit, red tailight lenses, metal axles and miniature kit box. I hope this review is helpful and feel free to ask questions about anything in this kit.
  9. As requested by a couple of people in the "what did you get today" thread. The pics were taken on a cloudy day so they aren't the sharpest but I fiddled with the brightness and contrast to bring out the details as best as I could. First off is the box art. I'm sure most of us have seen the box top by now. My favorite art is the stock version on the box end: The new pad printed tires are really nice and represent Goodyear Polyglas bias plies in two sizes: Note that they are not the old L-60 Goodyears that AMT have been using for decades. Next are some skinny Firestones to represent OEM tires: These aren't as nice as the others as they have soft sidewall detail and the tread looks like old ,cheap 60's recaps.
  10. My oh my that's nice! Great job
  11. I usually don't have any trouble uploading pics to Photobucket as long as I don't try to load more than 2 or 3 at a time.Where I have a problem is when viewing other peoples albums. After viewing maybe a dozen pics, it simply won't allow me to see any more.
  12. I also remember him in The Dirty Dozen.
  13. I think it's the factory visor over the windshield that model A's have. It adds to the sinister look that is so popular today.
  14. I think that Cruz has made a good point with his suggestion. This pic was taken with nothing but a piece of Dollar General 50 cent poster paper for a back ground: It cost very little in money and effort to do this. I use a 99 dollar Canon point and shoot camera without an aperture priority function which explains the out of focus areas in the pic.

    Salt Rod

That rocks! A beautiful scale example of a traditional rod. How about a pic of the mill?
  16. Excellent work Andy! Great color choice.
  17. You are doing something really good here. You are building the model the way the real cars were built back then - by scrounging parts from many different sources. I love the overall look of this model so far.
  18. Who wooden like em. Nice stuff.
  19. Now that is sinister looking! Makes one wonder if there's a coffin in the back.
  20. That engine looks tiny even for a small block for some reason. I like your engine stand idea.
  21. This is a perfect kit for someone just getting back into the hobby and you are doing a great job so far.
  22. Very well done and I like the glow from the paint.
  23. That looks great! I really like the deep dish wheels but don't care for the wing on these bodies.
