That's been pretty much my experience with the color too. I had to take time to overcome my preconceived notions of what I thought the color should be. The images on the side of the box certainly didn't help with the management of my expectations. I'm sure that they were chromatically punched up for esthetics sake. The blue on the box art is much more appealing to my eye but I've come to accept the reality of the kit. Thanks, David G.

Thank you for taking the time to offer some tips Marcin. By the time I got to read your suggestions I had already started painting but your pointers reinforce what I discovered. For paints I have one old Model Master acrylic for the lavender on the trousers and gloves, the rest are Tamiya acrylics. I did do a little thinning of the paints but found myself using more of a drybrush technique intending multiple coats. The shading was as much so I could see what I was painting as anything else. It did impart a little depth but as you suggested, it seems that additional paint coats will obscure most of it. In addition to a light blackwash, I plan to use tints of my base colors for highlight and shadow. I really do like the idea you offered regarding the use of primer to build light and shadow. I hadn't thought of that and it's a wonderful idea that I plan the use in the future. I hope to get some photos of the base colors today or tomorrow. I'm pleased with the results so far. I'm certainly guilty of that. I'm currently working on a build that I started in 2013 and I have others that took me a number of years to complete from start to finish. Let's not forget the occasions when a question posted to the forum gets answered with a snarky comment indicating that that question was answered in 2012 and the OP should learn to use the search function. At least a link is "thoughtfully" provided most times. There have also been times that I've done a general internet search for automotive or model related information and received results that link back to older threads on the MCM forum. I'm glad to know that an apparent majority of this group's members seem to recognize the value of the information in older threads. There are honestly times when I held back on commenting on an amazing build that I discovered here because of the age of the thread and being called out for resurrecting a thread that is now "irrelevant" because it's too old. Just because a thread is "old" doesn't mean that everybody has seen it. David G.

It looks like the same one offered by Micro Mark but be careful. Wish.com had a spotty reputation at best and outright fraudulent at worst. I recommend researching them before buying anything from them. David G.
