  10. looks really good from here
  11. Thanks guys. Usually I just take an ordinary kit along, tidy up mold lines etc maybe glue some sub assemblies or do a bit of detail painting. Takes up most of the 1st morning, Feet were killing me before we even left, so knew I wouldn't be up to much walking around, so I decided to start on this and show another facet of modelling , ( that and I knew it was gonna take a while ). Larry, the stopping to talk/ explain etc gave my eyes and mind a break. Dont usually find these all that difficult to make, but man, the scrutiny in which some people watched, made me feel real self conscious . Andy, the club has done a display at the Kumeu Classic Car and Hot Rod Festival for the last ten years, the only year we didnt attend, the public kept asking why, (and not only the club but promoters, local car mags etc). Its been quite good, usually pick up a couple new members or help people find that elusive kit, show off some of our builds etc. One Mustang owner was so taken with my replica of his 1:1 ( blown big block 69) that as I didnt want to sell at that time brought his car over to have photos of them together. arrangements have been put in place for me to build him another, just need a correct hood and another set of wheels
  12. Thanks John
  13. beautiful work as usual Joe, your finishes are outstanding
  14. cheers guys, appreciate the comments
  15. you sure you're not putting more detail into this than the real car had? Man the detail you're putting in is insane. Nothing short of pure awesomeness in this brother, be proud of yourself cause we are.

thanks guys, appreciate all the nice comments
  17. Built what you see here, at a car show from scratch with several thousand people walking by and or stopping to watch still have some more bars to make up but all that was done in about 14 hrs whilst stopping to chat to people about what I was doing and how etc. Club was there with a display, showing people modelling is still alive and well.

    70 Buick GSX

Almost box stock, lowered at front slightly, Duplicolor white Acrylic/Enamel. Rattle can sprays quite nicely.
  19. Johan Sox N Martin kit wheels from Johan Comet, rear slicks from partsbox, but not glued on so can change when I find some more Johan Firestones, No wiring as the distributors were both miss cast, so basically an out of the box type build with Slixx decals.
  20. thanks guys, been busy havent had much time on any forums, did finish up this and a couple other builds though. Alan, blower is a home made silver blend with the ribs left chrome, after checking the whole thing was changed to a darker magnesium type color couple little paint defects but overall reasonably happy with it
  21. Hey Ron, glad to see you got this one finished, your repair work is great, wouldnt guess you'd had to repair if I didnt know. In general the drag forum is really good but does seem to have some off days, dont get discouraged by it, cause there's nothing wrong with your work. Its also really slow compared to the under glass and workbench forum because of the sheer no. of people through there.
  22. thanks guys, really glad you like them. Greg lots of Google searches with different key words yielded a lot of the pics needed to make decals .Printed on white decal paper. the eyes are done the same way. Hoping to get Ramone (the 59 chev lowrider done over the holiday period.
  23. Thanks guys, Brandon I used a 2010 ZR1 and nascar wheels
  24. thanks guys didnt really take any pics of Luigi or the King as they were relatively low parts count simple builds.( king was basically built as a slammer)
