  1. Yep Del, it DOES look like an upturned bathtub! I dig oddball stuff... A little progress: Wanted something a bit different with the exhaust outlets...this is K&S 1/4" aluminum 'streamline' tubing... Yes? No?
  2. Nicely built Angel! I especially like the realistic crates and their contents in back. Oh, and WELCOME to MCM!
  3. Thanks guys! Just getting started, but wanted to show how differently you can go from stock... Tom, the tires are out-of-production "SoReal" TSL Boggers. Nice tires, I think a few resin casters have repopped these and the two other tires from the original line... The aluminum rims are Pegasus 17", and the centers are out-of-production resin Walker Evans. LOL Gotta get the ride height somehow to be able to build the suspension Now to build four new leaf springs...
  4. Agreed Bill... We've got this 30 minutes from home: Girls don't serve on roller skates, but it's still pretty neat! Takes you back... http://jerryscurbservice.com/index.html
  5. LOVE the drive-in! Hope I didn't contribute to their fading away back in the 80s by loading four friends in the trunk of my Impala There are still several around here, we go as often as possible (no more trunk riders, although I could...still have the Impala!) The one close to my work actually stays open YEAR ROUND! They just don't show the movie if it snows too hard... That's one thing I've always thought about if I ever hit the lottery. I'd buy an old drive-in, renovate it, and have the BEST food, movies, and car cruises around!
  6. Thanks for the comments everyone! Trying to keep it simple and actually get one DONE! I'll be getting discouraged by the bumpers quickly though, might be quicker to make new ones in a semi-custom style... Gary, the chassis that comes with the kit is basically a flat plate with provisions for metal axles. That's what I'm using on this slammer. No interior, windows will be tinted...Not sure what this resin kit is based off of (did someone other than Hubley do a Metropolitan?). I doubt the delivery/wagon was ever kitted, this is probably made from a Metropolitan. This resin DOES have a separate hood though, and a stock build would be possible with some work. The body looks accurate according to the pics I looked at... Any decal makers looking in on this?
  7. Chuck's pre-production build has the chrome rear bumper???
  8. I hope all you Dads here had a nice Father's day today and you were 'allowed' some bench time I picked up this Flintstone Nash sedan delivery at the Desert Scale Classic back in April. Great deal, been looking for one for a while with the pewter parts. Quite a bit of prep to get the body straight, but its almost there. There's a coat of red oxide primer underneath the black in case I go for the 'patina' look... The bumpers, well they're gonna take ALOT of work. Wouldn't be bad for body colored ones, but I want chrome...ugh... LOVE pewter parts! Nothing looks like metal like REAL metal! This is just a slammer, so I used the wheels and tires from the Revell Willys ProStreet. Can't see much of 'em, but the big Mickey Thompson meats can be seen nicely from behind! Thanks for looking!
  9. AWESOME custom Benz Dale! The purists would cringe!!! Love it!
  10. Full fendered you say Jon? Maybe this as a consideration:
  11. This is AWESOME Brizio! what a 'fertile' imagination you have! As far as a name for your creation, how about 'Turfs up' LOL
  12. Hows about two (or even three!) 1/12 MOTORCYCLE engines grafted together? Lots of choices, cheap, and WOW! talk about different!
  13. I wonder if they'll be available in the US??? None came up on eBay...
  14. VERY nice!!!
  15. Nicely done!
  16. Done... I think all proposed new scale subjects should be brought to a vote like this. Maybe it would make the kit marketing 'gurus' obsolete!
  17. Maybe a new summertime avatar pic would help Rich? LOL Time to retire the elf-n-magic one til it gets cold again... I started on the '52 taillights, does that help the motivation? We could meet up at the giant Wexford cruise some Friday nite, that'll get you going, what a selection of cars that show up!!!
  18. Just splendid! Bloody splendid!
  19. Welcome fellow Ohioan!
  20. Very COOL Dale!
