  1. That is because they are so close to "O gauge" and model railroaders have deeper pockets
  2. I also like the trio of colors. You could paint the bottom half white , have two arches blue one from front and rear crossing over each other and red on the top half.... like this
  3. Ben - http://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thscale/model_magazine_articles/car_modeller/cm17_jan_1993_updat/cm_1993_01_jan_01.html
  4. I agree - one of the Finest Snaps I have ever seen. Wow Angel this one really turned out fabulous. I am very envious of it
  5. Jeff I am not familiar with that method. I wait until the paint is air dry (not wet enough to smear or streak) and remove the tape. It is a New Year and I have decided to dedicate Sundays to older or forgotten projects. I have the cab interior installed and was able to mock this up for a picture. Next step is to start on the cab bling. I might have to get one of those nice grills from KJ for this. Thanks for looking in
  6. Yay KJ, I was searching for your in progress that showed this...
  7. Half and half , some graft the rear chassis to the frame others handy with a razor saw have cut it free,
  8. I have seen a few trucks made with the Snapper bagger. It looked to have worked really well. And with the price - you dont feel guilty cutting one up.
  9. Yeah , I will second that - thanks Dan ... ....... This is such a cool looking truck, it is really coming together !
  10. The mock-up looks great ! The CL-9000 is one of my most favorite semis.
  11. Gator - very cool idea. You better put a couple more rivets in that fishplate next time. I have always wanted that Pete kit, I hardly ever see them listed in the US .
  12. Vic - I can not wait to see how you decide to build your KW. It looks like you have a very nice work area . If your short some parts for your Louisville Hauler let me know. I bought one a while back for just the chassis.
  13. When I started this project I was using a computer drawing of a Reo Royale ,it was great for rough cab work. But my mistake was using it for vent dimensions, apparently they were exaggerated in size as to let you know they were there . So after round four (yes I made 4 different sets) I am satisfied with these. My other obstacle for the day was engineering the cab tilt. I did dislodge the right side vent window though But other then that I real happy today ! Thanks for looking in
  14. Howdy Jan - That is a mighty fine looking combination you just dont see anymore. Fantastic collection displayed models also , better then a museum.
  15. I am not a trucker but thought you might like the view of the yard this morning. My camera was beeping at me - I think it does not like negative temperatures.
  16. Yeah Terry the resin dust is flying now , this will be way cool ! Now you know Clayton will be wanting to open his doors and suicide them now
  17. Ha, you dont know me very well. The more I look at something the less I like it. Those cab vents were aggravating me the more I looked at them, so out came the chisel bladed knife and off they went. Made 4 more up that are not so fat looking - back to fixing gremlins.
  18. One of my most favorite trucks of all time. Wow , you have done a really fantastic job on this and that color match looks right on.
  19. A quick mock up for pg 3. The top of the doors have the KW taper removed and the vent window has been relocated. I have also pretty much have found all the little gremlins on the cab. Lots of Mr. Surfacer 500 to fill small imperfections. Now the real work starts - Making the cab mounts and cutting the grill where it will pivot. Thanks for looking in
  20. I dont mind paying a little more for older kits as the quality of plastic is better. But who can justify Highway robbery prices on kits that are so high no one will touch them . Like $425.00 for a BJ McKay truck
  21. Rich - I know right where that outhouse sits Clayton - That looks like the next season we will have here in Montana. First the snow has to go away... Its not real mud until you have to chain up
  22. Pat - they use to not be color coded . They were mostly rubber hoses ,black and if you were fancy you might have a redish one . Then guys started getting those hard line coiled air hoses from sears that was yellow. I cant remember when they became "red & blue" maybe about the time truck driving schools started popping up (?) I noticed the color coded more in the 1980's or my exposure to trucks was greater.
  23. Old Albion - Thank you for looking in, I am glad you like it. Mark - That 86" is so cool. I will have to make one now. Vic - wow, thank you I got a little work done on this one today and painted the dash up. Thanks for looking in !
  24. This is a nice kit to build. As said before a square and level frame makes life easy. Square grid hobby mats are fantastic for that purpose.
  25. Ben , nice "australianisation" to that Mack ! Where did you source your spokers from ?
