  1. Well I finally got around to where I want to paint this kit and have been tossing around with a few ideas for paint schemes. During the build of my 1/16th scale F/C it made me think that I wouldn't mind finishing up this kit and there really shouldn't be too much to complete either. Here are the ideas:
  2. Well after about a year of posting this on here. I finaly got around to painting the body today. I sprayed it with PPG base coat/Clear coat and the color is off the Subaru WRX STi's. Was very excited to get this painted and cleared. Happy with how it turned out. Now I just need to put decals on it and then clear it again and will officially be done Here are pics of the painting process: All wet sanded and ready to be painted: 1st coat of color: 2nd Coat of color: 3rd Coat of color: Completed after 3 coats of clear:
  3. Hey guys I wanted to ask if any of you knew of anyone that makes 1/16th scale photo etch disk brakes and 1/16th scale resin calipers? if not I am not sure if it would work if I could find the biggest 1/25th scale disks and just measure the diameter and do a conversion and see what size they would be in 1/16th scale. Thanks guys
  4. Mike what did you use for the paracute line? would love to see an up close pic of it.

  10. Looking forward to it Dan... Trying to get a couple models that have been sitting around for a while painted in time for it. One I will definetly have done the other I may just get as far as the paint on the FED dragster body done
  11. Nice Start to this build. I love a '61 Impala Pro Street. I have a picture of one in an old contest annual from years ago. I will have to see if I can find the Magazine and I will take a pic and post it for ya. That is pretty sweet picking up a moded chassis
  12. Very Cool. If I could pick that up for 30 bucks I probablywould of too... No way would I pay 80 for it HEck I just ordered a Tamiya 66 VW Bug off ebay for 21.00 for a particular bug I want to build after seeing it at a local car show 2 weeks ago
  13. Hey Joel, I picked up the Jimmy Flinstone '72 El Camino kit years ago to make a model of my real '71 El Camino. The resin kit is still in the box. It came with body, hood, chassis, Interior bucket and rear bumper. You were supposed to use a '72 Chevelle kit to complete it. anyway here is a pic of the Kit: and here is my '71 El Camino that I wanted to make a model of:
  14. Hey Jim are those the same price as the 1/16 scale crager funny car rims. I picked up a set from you and loved the quality of them. They will be going on my current funny car build. Hey Greg I have picked up a bunch of competition resins 1/16 scale engine parts, ie...valve covers, blower hats, oil pan, fuel cell, set of rear tire parts from Slixx Decals. an I have also picked up some parts from Flashpoint, flashpoint has some pretty sweet wide funny car rear tires. let me know if you'd like to see any pics of the parts. won't mind taking pics and posting them.
  15. It's a nice kit for sure. I picked one up about a week and half ago
  16. Hey Bradely, Hope you don't mind me sharing the pic of dragster my dad used to pit on. Have been thinking for the past year how cool it would be to build one in 1/16th scale. Anyway here it is:
  17. Hey Dwayne... here is a body that I filled in the door lines that I wanted to share with ya. Sorry the pictures aren't a little better I was having trouble with the lighting with my point and shoot digital camere. I am itching to get a new one...lol
  18. Darren This build is really nice. I am digging what you are doing with it. Love it that you made part of the bed look like a coffin and opening the doors. This thing is gonna look killer. I did a lowrider once and am kicking myself in the pants for selling the model when I was just going away to college when I was 21 which was about 14 years ago. The only thing I have of it was 2 pics taken years ago in an inner club model build when I used to be in a local model club back in California. we all had to build '61 Impalas. Hope you don't mind me shareing it here. seeing your build has inspired me to pick up another '61 one of these days and make another.
  19. Thanks Derrick...I have some other stuff from RB motion that will be going on the build. All of my A/N fittings with RB motions, I even have spark plugs and spark plug boots for both distributor and spark plug from RB. I am hoping to make some more progress on the build tonight.
  20. Very Cool build. Looks great. You did a good job on it.
  21. Very Nice Project. Love the stance and they way you are heading with this build. It makes me want to pull my '32 rat rod out and finish it
  22. Congrats George on your anniversary
  23. Whale that is so awesome the history of this build. I am going to be following for sure. I actually have a similar story although my dad didn't drive but he was part of the pit crew of a top alcohol dragster team from when I was 7 months old til I was about 13 and that's where my love of dragracing came from. I want to build that dragster in 1/16th scale. When I get home I will have to post a pic to show you, its the only one I have at the moment of it. Just hoping that my parents have pictures of it in their old photo albums.
  24. Mike you can definitely tell you have a lot of hours in them and well worth the hours. Can't wait to see some more of your builds. Keep up the great work.
  25. I have to agree with whale here. I have always filled the door lines on the funny cars I have done.
