Growing up, my dad only built one model......the Kyote. There was a AMT Gremlin Funny Car and the Revell Austin but life got in the way and he never finished them. This weekend at a swap meet I saw the holiest of grails to me. The vendor was rethinking on some of the kits he had on the table and pulled some back....this being one of them. Having never seen one still in the box, i asked to open it. The seller thought it was mint, but it wasn't.....it's been started and it's missing pieces. After rethinking it, the vendor let it go for $10. (Thank you Rob!!!!) The built model still exists, but missing a few pieces. Dad passed six years ago from Dementia.....wish he was still around to see this.

First model swap since October. One of the vendors brought his die cast. A young man talked his dad into the Maisto mid 50's Chrysler 300 and the 69 Dodge Charger.....nice choices! I had been talking with the vendor and then I see a 69 Cougar back fill the space formerly occupied by the 300. I teased the seller about holding back so we walked over to see what had not made it to the table yet. BOOM....first thing that materializes is the 'cuda. A few other nice ones and not being a Ford man, I caved on the Mustang. $50 for the trio.

No one was killed and very few injuries from the Deer Park, Pasadena, Baytown TX tornado yesterday. My employer had an office in Deer Park and back half of the building is basically gone. The landlord has been great to work with and was able to get the city two allow a party of two from each tenant a two hour window to get their effects from their former offices before more rains Saturday. I'm the leasing guy and got the e-mail when the office took the hit. I went out later onto the web and one of the local weathermen was on the street in front of the building. As they panned down the road, I believe those two big rooftop HVAC units now in the road were originally from the building we were in. Preliminary reports today are calling it an EF3.

Forecast all week for 1"-2" of snow starting this a.m. Meteorologist now says 3"-6". Really went on a limb since we're already at 4" and still snowing!

My teenager is doing the in class driver's ed on line. After one of the module, he came out to share about the course talking about pushing in the (cigarette) lighter and how to know it's ready to use. Wait.....what?? I remember my Stealth (1993!!) had a plastic insert in the power point. How old is this program?

Hobby Store had a 20% off sale before Christmas (Nissan was excluded). I gave up years ago of telling the family what I want so I Secret Santa'd myself! I have the six choppers but grabbed an extra one of this one to play with some of the unique paint colors out now.....

Estate sale find....All F/S....$25/each There were others but the boss moved the weekly department meeting to the time the doors opened so missed out on many others (not that I 'needed' these or any more)

Both them are looking across the living room at me wanting me to get the other one out of their chair.

I'll settle for the die cast 1/64....for now

I love the folks that buy all healthy foods and then at check out pull out the reusable cloth bag that looks like it was in the high school gym locker all year and only seeing the light of day at the end of school year purge.

Local Hobby Lobby had one at this price and two at $47.99

Cincinnati area toy/collectible store had the ladies that portray the yellow and the pink Power Ranger in for an autograph session. For these prices I would expect the Robert Kraft experience!

Indy Hot Wheels Club had their annual get together/swap meet. Took the teenager with me as he's been getting into models and modifying die cast. Great show and we both found stuff we had been searching for. They also provide a free lunch for attendees! The plates on the other side were my son's (I'm not that much of a pig). Food come made it a long two hour drive pack home!

It reciprocates as well. I wear golf shirts for work and the last time the wife bought me one it looked like Judge Smails would wear in Caddyshack. We had been married over 15 years at that point so one would think they would know what the other one likes.....yeah nope!

My local store had about a dozen Jeeps......that was it. Another builder found the lone 56 Chevy in another part of the store

Breakout the AquaNet.....going back to the 80's Red sedan.....wheel change (more like the AMG wheels) Black wagon....fourth release of the MB wagon was black (gray base/bumpers) with brown interior. Left the gray around the headlights as the European lights were not DOT approved at that time.

Grabbed a couple items at Five Below this a.m. including four Hot Wheels and the total seemed kinda high. I checked the receipt and the Hot Wheels (mainlines) rang up $3.25 each! Uh HARD no!! I went back in and returned them. The manager commented she thought they were recent editions. They were not. I said they are three times what WalMart sells them for.

Meh...... Depends on what you're looking for. Jason (great Matchbox connection) is two releases behind as Mattel is pushing out to big box retailers first. The guy that the Roadrunner kits had five kits and quickly sold his other three. The guy that had the Monte had about ten kits but all were overpriced. Overpriced POPS characters. Lots of higher end Hot Wheels that Mattel puts decent wheels on a $1 casting and nice card art for $8 a piece

Toy Show finds.....(all factory sealed) Wanted an MPC Roadrunner to do Superbird version and finally found one very reasonable.....ended up buying both kits the guy had Monte Carlo Aero Coupe.....missed it last time

Curious I was looking for tickets for the Trans Siberian Orchestra at the local arena. Decent seats were $49/each....times two was $98. Not bad! Moved on to the next page of TickerMaster and the total for electronic tickets jumped to $149??? Nope!! I would like to see them live but not that bad!

....and I don't mean Dad things that we shutter when we utter and realize we've morphed into that person. 1) There was a fight at my son's school and one of the other parents asked me if I knew who it was. I said I had no idea but she sent me a link to a Facebook video and asked her "who is the teacher with the man bun?" When I was looking for my first home, I looked outside the city I grew up in but ended up with a good deal less than a mile from where I grew up so my boys are in the same school system I went through. I had teachers that were much older than me (some were Vietnam or Korean vets), but no 'man buns' 2) Two of my dogs have joint issues/arthritis and they were put on CBD supplements (which really helps!) The store I go to, the owner has another business and I didn't know he owned a CBD store. He uses it for his pets as well and has always been able to keep me stocked. I told the wife one night, "our dogs have a weed man".

Jo-Han Eldorado.....pre 76 body. Unbuilt with the best chrome I've seen AMG Mercedes...missing wheels/tires but for $15, I can find some Ronal Fujimi Testrossa......open/complete. Classic Mercedes F/S. This, the Classic Cadillac and the Fast Buck....not sure when or if they'll be back
