Calb56( Charles) the forum is only as good as the members here! Remember birds of the feather flock together. Lots of good members here! Model building is about relaxation, camaraderie, friendships, and most importantly FUN!! If it isn't fun, it is not worth doing it!

Welcome Erich, if you ever have a free 3rd Friday of the month, Drive into Dearborn, Michigan. We meet at the Dearborn Ice Skating Rink on Ford Road from 6pm to 8pm. We have built models on display, model car swaps at every table and a general model meeting among members. This is your free invite! Look up Downriver Model Car Club on Facebook. It's a 2-hr. drive from Marshall but it will be worth it. We have about 75 members. See you soon!

Model building versus other hobbies

Well she can always offer the products she gets at Hobby lobby for resale to them. Just charge enough postage to make it worthwhile. Beginning of a new business? -

OK Eran, then peruse estate sales for people's personal vehicles! For sure do the Imperial Palace Collection in Las Vegas if it is still there. Lots of vehicles for sale in there. Sorry, I processed it about models instead of real cars! I must have models on the Brain. -

eran_k, If you are model hunting in the USA, check out the antique malls in your area you are staying, Also, local Estate sales, automotive swap meets, flea markets and church sales. Contact local model clubs in your visiting area and find out when they meet, time, date, location, etc. Most guys will bring their extra stuff from their stashes to peddle for cash. Ask the hobby shops if they know of any collectors selling their collections. Keep the faith, you will find something I'm sure of it! When you have no leads, go freestyle like on "American Pickers". Ask the local people about the areas you are going into for your safety. They also know the good cheap places to eat! Good luck in your hunt! -
Mikemich, think of it this way, the parts are worth more than the sum of the whole car. I am not saying to separate the parts on the promos. But if I needed the front and rear bumpers, glass and steering wheel for a model it probably be cheaper for me to buy a parts car or warped promo with all of the parts I need than buying them separate. If it does not sell as a whole warped promo on e-pay. then separate the parts off it and sell them that way. Always have a backup plan. Good luck!

Let's see, they tore down the Pontiac Silverdome to build an Amazon distribution center there, maybe they are clearing the land for a new development (trucking stop/ depot) for the truck traffic on the future Gordie Howe Bridge to Canada?

How to: Magnetic Alignment Board
paul alflen replied to Joe Nunes's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Simple and easy construction, Joe. This should be in the Model Cars Magazine. How about it, Greg? -
He was a trend setter that's for sure. I saw his video he made with the 65stang drift car. It lit a fire in me to no avail! I was an instant fan! May God Bless him and his family! Maybee the 164-year-old daughter will follow in his footsteps! We can only hope!

Just got an e-mail from Hobby Lobby on their latest ad. They have clearance on hobbies up to 80 percent, on-line. I checked it out! All the kits listed in clearance are at the 40 percent off level! This is on-line and not in the store. Most kits were the ones by Amt, and Revell with the newest box art, that were slow sellers that modelers already had or are not interested in. If you don't have a Hobby Lobby close to you and want to order on-line, now is the time to stock up for the winter building season! Good Luck in your hunt! Merry Christmas!
