  1. I remember wanting the Flower Power car after My brother and I saw it at Murray's Auto Supply before Christmas ( they sold anything and everything at Christmas time) My brother wanted the Jolly Green Gasser by Amt. (out at the same time?). My mother told us she would buy them, but we wouldn't get it till Christmas. I remember all the "flower power" stickers on Volkswagens back then (1969-1970?). I thought that the flower power car (AMT 1936 ford) was Cool, as I was a young 10 year old?, hipster! LOL.I didn't know who Michael J Pollard was back then! And didn't care! I just wanted the kit! That terrible box art is what sold me!
  2. "I can't drive 55" Sami Hagar/Montrose?
  3. Are you the Jim Thorton from the "Ramchargers" That built the 'High and Mighty' car? The only body I can think of is a 1/24th diecast out about 10 years ago I believe it was done as Lee Petty's car no 42?. If anyone has a better memory, feel free to chime in and correct me here!
  4. Cabdriver,(Jim King)That car totally belongs in ModelCarsMag because it was a simple kit to build , but the Salt weathering is beyond, fantastic! You have arrived as a Magazine Model builder now! Stay humble and keep inspiring us to push the envelope to a higher standard! Lol ? Congratulations!
  5. Very nice build Zippi, see what good play time retirement brings!
  6. In the last video by Doug, "The Influence of Car Model Writers ", the late Chuck Helppie, appears with Rick Morgan at about 6:40 into the video! '
  7. Does the RPM stand for Rupert Paul Murdock? THE guy looks familiar! is it C Van Tune? Ace Garage guy please help! Dave van help also?
  8. Wow, after all that he still refused your help! I guess with Steve Scott if something is too good to be true it is! And if someone oversells a product to you the opposite is true! Sorry to hear that Cabdriver. But you ARE inspiring others here with your 3-D thought process, parts, and builds! Keep up the good work! Enjoy your bench time that's what modeling is all about!
  9. Now with 3-d printing getting cheaper to produce things ,maybe he can print those bodies after scanning an original kit .!
  10. Cab Driver, 1st time I've ever seen a open 3-d printer louver on anything! Great job! I can see now you are going to be A GREAT INNOVATOR FOR 3- D PRINTED PARTS! Thanks for the inspiration!
  11. Casey, That's a good one you slipped in there! The George Costanza Phantom employer/job on Seinfeld.
  12. Foghat, Aerosmith, and Ted Nugent, Pontiac Silverdome , Summer of 1976, Loud for this 16 year old!!!! The concert was sold out! They opened up tickets for the upper bowl behind the stage!
  13. Cheap Trick Live at Budokan, is also good!
  14. Kiss Alive from 1975 at Cobo Arena in Detroit, Mi. Also anything by Ted Nugent Live is good! Long, LONG , ago on Saturday nights on radio station- WABX- Detroit would run Live Rock and Roll recordings ( bootlegged?) of various Rock Artists.I think it was called "King Biscuit Flower Hour" ?(Obvious reefer message there!) I would hook up to my receiver , my recordable 8 track player/ recorder (from Radio Shack )and turn the recorder on to Tape them for 90 minutes( longest length of an 8 track at that time!).Then I would play them in my car as I cruised Telegraph Rd .Gosh. AFX (JC)? ,your really getting the fog out of my brain now!
  15. All the leftover Round two Coca cola kits at the Walmart in Novi, Mi are gone now!(no I didn't buy them all !)? There were about 20 cars left on January26th,2022. That is good news for Round 2, No discounting or Ollies dumping anymore= More profit!
  16. OK ,thank you Mr Boyd and maxwell48098 for that clarification. Now we all know what the date is on the back of the AMT decals!
  17. maxwell48098, then your decal sheets should have dates Between 3-69 to 3-70? Can we see some pictures of those sheets? . Are those Decal sheets from the Peterbilt 359 California hauler, First issue? I don't doubt you, but I like to see it visually, also! Maybe we can get Mark or Tim Boyd to explain about the dates on the back of the AMT decal sheets?
  18. On the back of the decal sheet where it says 3- 69 , means it was the planned release date of March of 1969.
  19. Could they be Whoopie cat decals? or Dave Van's artwork?
  20. Oldmopars, (Scott Solomon) thank you for that update! Maybe some stores are finally putting out the displays from last year, or the stores are in thinly populated areas where stock doesn't get turned over faster?
  21. Hobby Lobby had the 1964 Olds Cutlass in stock, in the store, at 40% off . So I bought 3 between 2 stores!
  22. Walmart in Novi, Mi still had Coca- cola model kits from the Round 2 display. They were moved into the toy aisle instead of the end cap. Just waiting for the clearance sale price now ! Still at regular price! Patience grasshopper !
  23. Yes Robberbaron, I also picked up three 1964 Olds Cutlass hardtops from two different Hobby Lobby's last night . At 40% off you can't beat the price!
  24. ChrisBcritter ,Good one!
  25. happy grumpy(Mario T) that car looks like you cut out the doors then put them back on the model? or is it the black panel line technique? Nice job by the way! Nick's Garage( On UTUBE) in Quebec, would be proud of that model, since he build a real replica of the Kowalski car!
