paul alflen replied to 2000-cvpi's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My buddy has CRS disease. He told me Lowes instead of Walmart has models. Sorry for any misinformation this has caused to any Tennessee modelers. Previous post is now deleted. Very sorry! -

1950’s chevy snub nose truck
paul alflen replied to NOBLNG's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
NOBLING, i believe that cab is done as a Diecast 1/25, or 1/24 stake truck. I have a Campbell's soup version that Ertl did, when they were doing diecast collectables in the 1990's.Try to see if you can find a damaged one w/ a good cab, then you can use that for the truck build or cast the cab in resin. You have worked with mixed medium before (stryrene, resin, & metal) with great results! (Willy's jeep) .Good luck in your search! -
The "Cal Drag Combo" sold out in my area! IF you want one buy it now! Local hobby shop ordered 22 and sold them all! More coming in Sept? Old Nostalgia sells well!

67 AMT annual fastback mustang question
paul alflen replied to hedotwo's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
The 1/25th 1967 and 1968 original Amt Mustang fastback kit parts interchange. These were retooled into kits from the promo molds. The 1968 AMT Mustang kit became the AMT 1968 Shelby Gt500 kit. This 1968 Shelby is still out in some Michaels and Hobby Lobby stores. This is the kit for Restoring pieces-Glass etc. Look on the bottom of this kit to see if it has the paRTS YOU NEED! Just no stock side lovers or stock bumpers The 1990's issue ( the one out now!)of the 1967 Mustang and Shelby GT 350 Mustang ( molded in white and black plastic)were new completely tooled molds. They had better chassis detail > The bodies were copied down from a Wen-Mac (1/10 or 1/12) battery operated Ford Promo Large scale!( this explains the removable trunk and the separate /different interior pieces). The chassis was copied down from the Revell 1/12 scale 1965 ford mustang GT/ Shelby GT350.So the question is ,are you going to build it as a original kit or a superdetailed kit- bash better than original? -
Thank you Casey!

Gtx 6970, I just got an orange cab from a 65? dodge ride-on truck( kids car) ,Union 76 promo from the 1960's . It looks to be 1/12 or 1/10 scale. could be reduced to 1/25th or 1/24th . Anybody know who I can send it to to get a Dodge Cab made for the ramp truck? Moebius-Pegasis, Dave Burkett at ModelKing or Dave Van, Tim Boyd are you listening? let me know by PM. I know one is being made in 1/18th scale also, that cab could be reduced down to1/24th or 1/25th, also!

I live near the Gm proving grounds in Milford, Mi. The colors from Maisto are the same colors the C8 test cars with the manufacturer plate running around here minus the black stripes. The other 2 engineering test cars I have seen are red and orange. Those colors are really noticeable on the road! A cop could spot you a mile away and not lose you in traffic if you are speeding !
