  1. Don't forget the GTR Summer NNL held this Sunday Aug. 7th from 9 a.m. 'til 2 p.m. with the theme being TV & Movie Cars. There will also be a swap meet in the parking lot. This event takes place at the Algonquin Township Office at 3702 U.S Hwy 14 in Crystal Lake, Illinois. See you there.
  2. Everything seems to be rising price wise these days, well everything except my income. The high cost of model kits should and will in some instances prevent much younger modelers to afford buying kits, and they'll have to ask for model kits for their birthdays and Christmas as gifts. Besides there are not too many jobs for a kid, teenager, young adult, as there were back in the 50's & 60's either, which is no help for them at all.
  3. Mine is large enough to ad a motor and servos if I wanted to make it an R/C boat.
  4. I haven't even opened my first "30 Coupe kit as yet.
  5. The weather here is Hot & Humid with temps in the 90's and the heat index a bit higher than that. I have 2 cruise nights to attend to tonight, but I think I'm gonna stay inside and watch a ball game.
  6. Very nice build on that Dodge Super Stock George, as that car wouldn't be in the A/FX class. I just love dem Mopars!
  7. The Dumas boat kits are a lot bigger than 1/24th scale.
  8. Yes, Culver's is worth a try. I'm not crazy 'bout their food however a lot of people like it.
  9. Very nice build on that lobster boat. Many years ago I had started a "plank on frame" Chris Craft '55 Cobra and it would be nice if I finished it someday. Maybe???
  10. "Muscle Bikes," yeah right. I gave up bicycles back in '63-4 and started driving.
  11. Are those $ X 4's? They sure look like it and certainly not like gassers.
  12. I've been using rattle cans for many years and never recall having that problem, even with having 50+ cans here in the house.
  13. Very nice build on that "bullet bird" as I had built a few of those back-in-the-day.
  14. Lookin' good so far, now if only I'll ever get to build mine???
  15. Congrats, as we've been TruGreen customers for two years now and we're happy with the results.
  16. You could just "carefully" glue a couple/few very thin strips of Evergreen behind the acetate and to the front of the hood/grille.
  17. They have a few (several?) locations surrounding the city as well.
  18. Lou Malnati's pizza is not good, but excellent as I have one 'bout 5 miles from the house, and picked one up just last Saturday.
  19. No re stock at my local Hobby Lobby either, however they did have their Christmas trees on display already. Yeah I know, it's only July.
  20. I stopped at my local Hobby Lobby yesterday to check out their "model stock: and saw that they had the Christmas trees already on display. Wow in July???
  21. Build it, as the convertible kits are not as rare as the hardtop kits. In '62 Chrysler did have "Poly head" motors also. I just love dem Mopars!
  22. I was on Lake Powell last month and the water level there looked 'bout 18 - 20 feet lower also.
  23. Good project Travis, as we've had a guy in our model club build a '41 Plymouth gasser before.
