  1. Yeah, we used to use a cigar box to store our decals back in the 60's but every time you wanted a decal, you had to handle all of them. With a binder, you just turn the pages that hold the decals inside.
  2. I've been usin' a binder for storing my decals for years now and it works great. I picked it up at Office Max along with some acid-free clear sleeves and there's also a storage pocket on the inside of the front & back cover as well.
  3. The Wet Look Clear is lacquer and I wouldn't use it over enamel.
  4. I've been buyin' less and tryin' to build more these past few years.
  5. Welcome to the forum Scott, and I have a modeling friend who lives in Aurora also. The Rocky Mountain Hobby & Collectibles Show is on March 15th.
  6. I've seen snow on Mt. Charleston in May already.
  7. Yeah, it's gonna take some time Greg as it won't happen overnight.
  8. I read in this morning's paper that things on the docks are pretty much straightened out and hopefully there'll be a flurry of activity and the ships will be unloaded and the 18 wheelers rollin'.
  9. Sure it would cost you more money to replace it, but now you have a 20 year old vehicle with some new parts, and more new parts will be needed in the future.
  10. It was a bit crowded in the parking lot, but we had no trouble and didn't need a 4 wheel drive vehicle.
  11. 1/24th huh? I just picked up some 1/25th Mopar steel wheels and poverty caps from Missing Link out of Detroit as they were vending here at a local model car swap meet. They look to be very good. 'Bout the only thing I can suggest in 1/24th is the "cop car" wheels from Monogram's '70 Road Runner kit.
  12. It's a matter of economics Joe as the larger building cost more money to rent. I know the man who runs that show and has done it for many years, and after awhile one would get the "feel" of how big a place to rent. To me he has always put on a quality show.
  13. Take your time on your build Nick, and don't try and be like other builders 'til you get a little bit of experience. Otherwise you might get frustrated and quit the hobby altogether. After awhile you'll find your "comfort level" and enjoy the hobby more and the results of your builds.
  14. Nice job on that Ford build John, real nice!
  15. I thought it was a good show as ALL the vendor tables were full, and a large crowd of shoppers 1st thing in the morning as well. I didn't get any kits as there's only 2 or 3 that I'm lookin' for, but I did get some wheel/tire sets, wheel/ dog dish set, and some decals from SMBC as the vendors from Detroit were there also. I also saw a lot of modelers that I've met over the years which is great, and lunch at the Tilted Kilt was a good time as well.
  16. The truck bed looks like it came from the AMT '40 Willys?Pick Up and there were fenders that came with it also.
  17. Ho hummm, I've already got plenty of kits on hand, so when the new kits get here, they get here.
  18. While I don't have a spray booth, I occasionally spray paint indoors and have done so for years. It's not "highly" recommended, but it does work for me.
  19. Congrats crazyjim, as that's VERY good news.
  20. I'll be headin' down to Florida, but it won't be for awhile yet, and I'm glad of that.
  21. There sure is Joe, there's the Milwaukee NNL in Waukesha this April 11th and you'll usually see 600 -900 models on the display tables along with rock 'n roll music, club and manufacturer displays, and a great raffle as well. The next day is a swap meet a couple miles to the west of this location. Hopefully someone will have some flyers at the Du Page show.
  22. Nice builds, as I just love dem Mopars!
  23. Don't worry Craig, another 6 -7 weeks and you'll be ridin' that Harley.
  24. I saw on the evening news that it was cold in Florida as well. I need higher temps than in the 30's if I'm goin' to Florida.
