Thanks, Gregg. I guess the post office ate my copy. Keep hoping it will show up. I will definitely re-up at the show. Wait, doesn't Jairus have a vintage wagon? There should be plenty of room in the back of that thing to lay down.
Thanks for the update, Gregg. I look forward to getting the renewal postcard. Thought I was good for another few issues but 203 has not shown up. So maybe I'm expired, maybe it went missing. I'll check the card when it gets here. Hope to see you in Salt Lake. You're not flying United are you?
Thanks Danno for the additional information about Bob's Cobras and how they got to the museum. I look forward to seeing them in person in a couple of weeks.
I received my order from them on Monday (March 27). Beautiful product that was extremely well packed so that despite some slight damage to the box nothing inside was damaged. Thank You to Don and Carol for all of their years of service to this hobby.
Actually I don't think there are too many multi-day model car events. This is one of the few. All motels are booked for the trip there and back. Registration sent in. Really looking forward to this show.
Great builds, Phil! I also love the TROG cars. Back to the early days of hot rodding. I'm actually working on the same thing right now. A Model T phaeton, A roadster and maybe A pick up. Any more pictures of your builds?
There were a whole bunch of "What If the kit manufacturers made these models" kit boxes done by someone back in the 90's/early 2000's. It was just for fun. I'm sure at the time no one thought in 10-20 years people surfing the web would be finding these pics and think they were real kits. There were boxes for the 55 Buick from Highway Patrol, the 67 Galaxie from Car Salesmen (?) etc.
Bob usually recommends medium temp lacquer thinner. It will need to be thinned 100% or more. You will need to experiment some with a spare body or spoons. Of course automotive primer will need to be laid down first.
Very cool to have some familiarity with a car in contention for a win like that. Some gorgeous automobiles there. I'd have to go with the 34 Ford Phaeton.
Actually I've been watching all week and Steve and Mike have mentioned model kits available of certain cars quite a bit. I believe Steve even mentioned the new Bronco kit at one point. I've noticed a couple of wrong references to kit manufacturer but when you're trying to get facts out that fast it's bound to happen.
