Ad Blockers
bobthehobbyguy replied to Dave Ambrose's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Well the adjusts Dave made have helped. I was getting ads I had to close to see the topic I was veiwing. The adds on my android tablet were never as bad. If the ads are needed to keep the site going fine with me. Dave has said he is still tweeking the ads to balanced revenue and inconvenience. The idea of paying for the site has been discussed but that comes with its own set of issues. -
Coating old decals
bobthehobbyguy replied to bobthehobbyguy's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thanks Dave. Spell check strikes again. How many coats of tamiya do you put on old decals? -
A fun looking build. Like the hood ornament.. Rat rods provide an opportunity to use up some parts box spares.
-
Nicely done. Like your treatment of the interior. Clean build, your modeling skills are improving with each build.

I have an older set of decals. What is the best clear to use so that they won't fall apart? Also what has anybody found for coating microscale decals, is there something better for them? Thanks for any help in advance!

Ok I'm calling this done. Needs a couple paint touchups and radiator hoses but I'm happy with it. Krylon short cuts lemon yellow and tamiya bright orange wheels. Not perfect but looks a lot better than sitting in the need to finish pile. will do an under glass post when I get a chance. Will try to get some better photos taken also. -

An absolute stunner. Still can't believe its 25th scale. A tutorial in the fine art of modeling. Shows what can be built with no compromises. -
Love it. Nice mix of scratchbuilding and kit bash. You really nailed it.
