  1. Wow. Just came across. A tour de force in scratchbuilding. Goes to show if you want something bad enough you can find a way to make it happen.
  2. Thanks Dave for your time keeping the board running. Would cross my fingers but then I couldn't build models. Stay safe and healthy.
  3. Another point to consider using superglue is you don't need to use a lot. Less is more.
  4. I'm in. Definitely want to participate in this ground breaking event.
  5. Check out the following members work. He hasn't been active lately but he has the chassis work down to a science. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/profile/6020-tyrone/
  6. Very cool idea. Innovative solution to a problem in these difficult times.
  7. As with anything there are positives and negatives. 100 years ago there was less communication. These days its an age of instant information. We know about things minutes after they happen rather than days or weeks. Which is not always a good thing. Relax and be safe all. We will get through it. And remember if you can't go to church God makes house calls.
  8. Bottom line this is a world wide problem. We are all being affected in one way or another. Lets put our energies into being safe and helping others to be safe.
  9. Unfortunately crisises can bring out the best and worst of people. Costco has announced that there will be no returns allowed on tp, paper towels, wipes, water , rice , and lysol. To those that have hoarded I hope they used their credit cards to buy. It will serve them right.
  10. Some number from the cdc. There are 36 million to 51 million flu illnesses a year. Out of that 370, 000 to 670,000 hospitalizations. Out of that 20,000 to 55,000 flu reacted deaths. We have not seen that many covid19 cases. However Feb 21 there were 35 usa cases and now around 6500. Basically doubling every 3 days. Hospitals are not equipted to handle huge number of cases. Maybe all of this is overreaction but can we afford to be wrong and not get control.
  11. Great idea social distancing. Building lots of modeks. Second is displaying them here from the comfort of your home given so many shows have been postponed or canceled. Lets see some great projects!
  12. I agree 100 percent. I think it is unwise to say the that the media should be ignored. Yes they have been known to sensationalize. However the current situation has been constantly evovling. They are not just repeating the same information The key is balance. Too much information is just as bad a too much. However you can control your level of how much you want. At this time limiting unnecessary socialization is common sense till things become more stable. Again balance. Its your choice on how you want to react. You can wrap yourself in a body condom and hide under your bed. Or you can run around shaking everybody's hand and kissing them. Neither are wise options. Balance and common sense is the best course of action.
  13. All of this is no surprise as with the advent of air travel one can interact with a lot of people in a short time. With an airborne high transfer rate it easy fir the system to be overwelmed. Just look at the time line for Italy. Was interesting. Went to my primary physician on Tuesday for my 3 month check. There were signs up saying don't go into office if you have symptoms that you need to be screened to determine a treatment course. Local hospital was gearing up with suited doctors and nurses to deal with possible cases. Finally as I got in my car I saw the mailman go in and out of the office. Was thinking if the mailman got the virus how many people coukd potentially be infected. Well for me I've got several health issues that put me in the high risk category. TP is covered as I was due to get the 30 pack from Costco. Good for 5 months at least. Just did my normal 3 month refill on my prescriptions. Just did the monthly grocery shopping and got a little extra to give me a cushion. Have a couple of errands to run tomorrow and I've got everything covered. More models than I'll build in a life time and am in good shape for supplies. Think it time to get busy and get some of those models built. Thankfully we have this site to socialize. !!
  14. There are two features that would help although they don't seem to be working. One is the condensed mode where you only see the titles. Second is the ability to mark threads or topics as read. Hopefully Dave can possibly tell us how to get these features to work.
  15. The condensed modestill does not seem to work. You only see the titles. The expanded mode shows titles and text.
  16. Well toilet paper also is a good standin for kleenex. If all the kleenex has been purchased then tp fills the need.
  17. Also you nded to load up on batteries. A shopping cart full is about right.
  18. The lack of capability to test in the US was a monumental blunder. WHO had a viable test and the CDC chose not to use it. The big question is why. Was it an opportunity for somebody to make a lot of money? Wishful thinking is not going to make this go away. Mandating that it will go away will not work either. The longer this goes on there is the very real specter that the disease will mutate and become a lot more deadly.
  19. Considering the fact that Who has declared the virus a pandemic I dont feel that it is right to criticize the media for the attention they've given to the virus. There are 2 strains that have been documented. The original and then a less serious case. However there is always the potential for the virus to get much worse. The best thing is to be diligent and wash hands and be prepared for possible disruptions. Finally remebrr FDR's famous quote. The only ghing we have to fear is fear itself.
  20. Just a thought . Give the front grill some depth would be a black wash to give it some depth. Also I do agree the iron cross on the grill is out of place.
  21. Great unique concept for a bug. Love it. Well done.
  22. Great color combo. Looks great. What were the build issues you had?
  23. Ah the infamous donut boxes. Once you take the shrink wrap off they have no structural integrity.
