  1. Appreciate the comments gentleman. Pretty much completed the custom Ken Mary Skyline Lowrider build. Just needs an exhaust tip and maybe a number plate. Then a final clean and il take some better pics. @Steve H just about completed one mate 😁
  2. KenMary Works kit build. Laurel Works kit build.
  3. There is also the Liberty Walk variant of the kits
  4. Liking the direction of this build so far. What frame is that ??
  5. I really like these kits just for being so different. Have a few in the stash and built a few. A lot of fun to build, if you dont take them too seriously. Also hunting them down and collecting them is addictive. Once you get a couple, you want them all.
  6. Finally had some cooler weather, so went back to the Ken Mary and gave it a wet sand and polish with the compounds.
  7. Cheers Bob. Yeah just a few, once the XW's are painted its build time.
  8. @David G. Its this colour over a gloss white base. It might be available in one these U.S online retailers if they have in stock. fusionscalehobbies.com usagundamstore.com gundamplacestore.com hobbynetics.com
  9. Always impressed with the ingenuity within your builds Eric.
  10. As usual your persistent to over come obstacles gets the build done. Good work Bob.
  11. Whilst prep'n the body done a few mods. Filled in the mounting holes for the sill mould trim. Hole punched a 5mm disc out of 1mm styrene sheet for a flush mount fuel cap. Shaved the door locks And again with 1mm styrene sheet filled in the spare wheel access panel/door to create a smoothed out roll pan.
  12. Give it time to fully dry, then use fine tip cotton swabs and Tamiya fine compound and just try polish the black areas only off the purple. Go light and slow. If your lucky and the black hasnt melted into the purple too much it might work. 🤷‍♂️ Get some Canopy glue Bob, its got strong bonding properties, but any mishaps can be cleaned up with warm water.
  13. Not the best of pictures, but you get the idea.
  14. Ute will be street machine style exactly the same as the sedan, as I mentioned in the ute topic I grew up around street machine styled cars so it will influence the majority of the DDA kits I build. Nah mate, identical ute sedan combo.
  15. Bit of planning before the body prep. Not interested in using the stock inline 6 cylinder. Seems to be a decent base to build off and add some extra details, so I will build it anyway to see if I can get it looking decent. Going to do and engine swap with the one from the DDA XW Custom Slammed sedan kit. DDA identify it as a cross ram injected coyote engine, so I assume something like this 🤷‍♂️
  16. Yeah its okay I guess if your into the factory stock 4x4 farm ute style 🤣 I grew up around street machine style, so it will always be an influence with my Aussie car builds 😉 Thanks Carl, its something different.
  17. New wheels and roughed in the stance again on the XW GT sedan. So good to be able to build these Australian cars. Now to prepare them for paint, so looking forward to seeing them painted in the colour I have chosen.
  18. Thanks Steve. Nothing to it, but to do it 🤣, only way to improve is to keep at it and learn with each paint job. Thank you Greg. 🤣 No conveyor, just lots of spare time with good planning and preparation. Wider spray pattern will help, less overlapping passes. I find the overlap edge is where some orange peel comes from.
  19. Quick coat of surfacer, new wheels and a rough mock up to check the lowered stance.
  20. Like I need to start another build. But DDA collectibles continue to manufacture new kits of Australian cars. This time around the newest release is a ute 😁 So as always with my builds it starts with the stance. Out of the box mock to see where its at. And get an overall feel for the kit and its design. Good to see in this kit that the bumpers are chromed from the factory.
  21. Applied the colour coat to the shark nose 210 Skyline.
  22. What colour is it ?? looks good with the vinyl graphics.
  23. https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10045623?srsltid=AfmBOopRgtlkj9g3zWnPm9XhJmT0zZyW7KU3Dj56NoMnl6pA9qzidspt
  24. Painted the new wheels for the Hako.
