Bit of variety. You know me, I like to do something different. Hard not to build them as Lowriders. Its a bit funky for sure, here is a laugh for ya. LOL! Yeah, I have a lot of after market wheels. Can never have enough shiney shoes. This is just some of my wire wheel sets. Have more that are in there dedicated kits. My favourite wheels, can you tell.

Yes that is correct.

4 large ones made from 16mm MDF and 6mm glass. And use a lot singles. Currently have materials set aside for a fifth large, will post up when I get around to making it. No the best pic, but you get the idea.

Thanks Douglas. Thought it might have been obvious but.... same colour I use on all my Lowrider builds. Black.

Phrozen Sonic Mini 4K 3D Printer

It's mind blowing to see what people are now doing with the 3D printers. Going to be interesting to see what you use it for. -
Interesting colour selection, is it a flat paint or did you top coat with flat clear.

Looks great in that colour. Engine is a beast, I like it. -
59 Chevrolet El-Camino
Cool Hand replied to Cool Hand's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Appreciate all the comments, thank you. Yeah being that there is a lot of chrome trim, it can be a bit intimidating. Thats why I made sure to get in some practice on a few other car builds before tackling the El-Camino. -
Judging by the body in the back ground. Thats the snap kit right ?? Looks decent in that colour, you going to keep that low. ??

Agree with your impressions on the kit. I just started working on the 68 Chevelle, got to say im very impressed with the overall quality of the molding and parts. As for the colour, black gets my vote. LOL!

Came across this pic just recently, reminded of your post. Red chassis frame by the looks of it -
Mr Hobby from the jars thinned with levelling thinner 1:1.5. Airbrushed with a Iwata HP-TH .5 @ 18-20 psi Use the black surfacer as first initial check coat on the body to find flaws and also used as dark base mainly for my black paint jobs. The Gray is used for light colours. The 50 Ford F-1 will be painted Tamiya TS-24 purple.

Manage to get one light surfacer check coat on all of the bodies. 65 Mercury Comet Cyclone 66 Impala 68 Chevelle 71 Impala. 76 Caprice.

Applied what I call a light check coat of 1500 black surfacer. This help me to see all the mold lines, other issue's and what has been done.
-
Thanks David, hoping I can do it justice. Thanks Ray.

Future Lowrider builds. -
Thanks Rusty, Impala's I like them all. Thanks Anton, just hope I can remember how it all pieces back together. Not super low this one, probably say its at drive height.
-
While im waiting on the surfacer to dry/cure on the 50 Ford F-1. Couldnt help myself, seeing as there is now a few vacancies in the parking lot. Better add some new ones. Main reason being, need to make the most of what is left of the summer weather, so the plan is to get all of these prep'd and painted black while its nice and warm. Usually do the same each year during the summer season, paint a few bodies and put them aside for winter builds.

Thanks for the kind words Trevor. As seen else where, prep some parts and ready for the 1500 grey surfacer.

Continuing on with the previous work done. Opened the boot/trunk. Scratch built some hydraulic pumps and will be using Pegasus batteries. Now to try and pick it up and start again from where it stalled.
-
Time to get this back on the bench. Started the kit in 2016, but like some of my others it stalled. Wheels. Current state of the parts. These pics are from when I set up the stance in 2016. Engine is already complete. Work that was previously done 2016. Modified the oob kit suspension to look like it has the hydraulic cylinders.
