  1. I would love to have half of your talent!
  2. Every thing you build looks like a cover model ready for a magazine!
  3. You could do Revell's 1968 Beetle, or maybe a nice VW van as a hippie-mobile. Lots of groovy slogans and daisies painted on it. I also remember seeing a picture of a Beetle that was owned by a pest control company from back in that time that had mouse teeth under the bumper, mouse ears on the top and a tail sticking up on the rear deck.
  4. I've bought three of the wagons, two to build and one to use for parts for a 1977 that I want to restore. They're in the 'Someday' pile.
  5. I love these reissues of old kits. They have problems of course, but they are usually the only game in town. I tend to put it down to age of the molds, but after coming across an old build I realize that not all of it was age. Some of it was just the state of the business. When I get one, I treat it kind of like a resin kit, I go into it knowing there will be a lot of fitting and reworking. What I'm really hoping is that the companies sell enough of them to invest some money into backdating. I would really like to be able to buy a 1975 Camaro or Firebird or a 1973 Dodge truck or van or maybe even a Chevy van with the high top and window conversion.
  6. I wonder if the Coke machine is the same one that comes with the new Chevy Cameo reissue?
  7. You've got some nice builds! I like Dupli-color's Hot Rod Primer. It's a dark grey so I can use flat black for details.
  8. Austin is definitely different. We get a little snow every couple years. On the other hand, our summers can be brutal.
  9. I had a Volvo 264 GL with this engine in it. It wasn't bad, I got it up to 140 a couple of times, though that car's boxiness didn't make it easy. I suspect that the LS engine is about the same size and probably weighs about the same.
  10. I wonder if there were extenuating circumstances? I remember there was a dealer a few years back that lost a big suit like this and then played the victim on tv and with the local congressman. Someone did a little digging and found out that they had had a lot of similar suits against them and they always changed their name and kept on selling cars with problems.
  11. Ahh, a beautiful day! After a few weeks of drizzly 30-40 degree days, I looked outside and it's sunny and in the 60s. I'm taking advantage of it to paint some bodies while I can and let them bake in the sun. I also like to sit on the porch and do body work because it make mold lines and scratches show up well.
  12. Looking great! I've almost bought this kit a couple of times and ended up getting something else. After seeing what you are doing with it, I need to get one!
  13. You've got some impressive skills! Really nice
  14. I like it and the paint is sooo smooth!
  15. I would say year finished, though I might also note that I had started it whenever.
  16. Sounds like a good plan to me! I would also add a tire and wheel line and maybe tool up some engines such as the Chrysler Hellcat, Chevy LS and the Ford Coyote and Ecoboost. They could even pack them in little crate boxes or something. Some kits include really nice modern aftermarket wheels and tires and I wouldn't mind getting those. I hate buying a kit just to rob the wheels or engine out of it. I figure they already have some of this stuff tooled up, maybe figure out a way to produce them as sets and release them. I'm tired of keeping Fujimi amd Aoshima in the accessory business! LOL
  17. Nice! I think the Falcon Ranchero and the 1968 Cadillac are my favorites.
