  1. I don't build a lot as my work space is a 36x24 stand up shelf wedged between the dryer and the wall. My current obsession is hot rod/track rat Porsches. They aren't the most accurate or detailed, but I 'm building for fun so that's good enough for me. I built 3 of the Monogram curbsides, 1 Tamiya GT3 and a Revell 911 that I just finished today. The solid grey one is my favorite as it represents what I'd like to have as a daily driver. It features deep dish steelies and is de-winged. I just inventoried and I still have 4 more Monogram curbsides, another Tamiya GT3, 3 Revells and a Fujimi for the new year. Anyway, here's my 2018's!
  2. Thanks, I may try to convert one if I can't find one of these at a decent price.
  3. I don't like to buy recasts, but since it hasn't been available for years, I took a chance.
  4. I've been buying and even building Porsche 911 this year. Just for variation I'd like to find a right hand drive dash for some of them. Most of the kits I have are 1/24th, such as the Revell Turbo Coupe. Anyone have one available? A related question; I've heard the street stock Tamiya 1988 Turbo Coupe has both a left and right hand dash. I've watched the YouTube videos and it doesn't look like it has one. Can anyone confirm that?
  5. Glad to see you here! We all build what we wish we could have in 1:1. If I could I would have a garage full of 911s. That won't happen so I'm building my dream cars in 1:24th. Have fun with them!
  6. Just now I realized I need to buy another '55 Chevy truck. I forgot I built the last one a while back.
  7. There are several Facebook clubs that specialize in model car sales. You might join one of those and try there. The advantage is there are no eBay fees, it is all direct sales between you and the buyer/seller. I've had good luck so far.
  8. There was a time when I would tear into a Fujimi Enthusiast kit or an old Revell kit. I loved all the little parts and all the tiny, delicate detail. Not anymore, now I like a nice simple kit that I can put together without too much hassle. Promo chassis are fine for these tired eyes!
  9. I think he's selling multiples of it. The last one I found went for twice the price, so I'm happy.
  10. I've been looking for a 1955-1957 GMC conversion for a while. I've searched eBay off and on for a couple of years and tonight I found one at a good price and jumped on it. I can't tell much from the picture but decided to take a chance. Here's a screen cap.
  11. It's not bad looking, but a full electric is nothing more than a glorified golf cart. I'm picturing a small accessory trailer with a Home Depot generator on it to power the truck for any kind of extended trip!
  12. Mine never got those, so I hope they will have them soon!
  13. I don't have a picture, but the recent release of the Pinto Cruising Van includes the old Pro Stock bucket seats.
  14. A Maverick and a Vega would be good as the original kits don't exist anymore except as high-priced eBay fodder. To make the tooling go further, I would want to see a stock version as well as a drag version. Start with the 1970 version and the tool could be updated to make the facelift 1974-up versions later.
  15. I tried to build this as a kid back when it was orange, then a couple of years ago I bought this release and built it again. I learned the lesson and glued everything closed too.
  16. My grandma bought a new 1971 after my grandpa died and drove it for several years with no trouble. She then traded it for a new Cordoba and later a Volare. She seemed to have a thing for malaise!
  17. Does the Revell kit come with a LHD dash as well as a RHD?
  18. Beautiful! This kit is on my search list, as soon as I get finished with my Monogram, Revell and Fujimi 911s.
  19. That looks great! I have the Maverick version, I wonder if the bumpers from the Comet would be usable on the Maverick?
  20. Well guys, my entry isn't going to be crossing the line on time. I am about to the point of final assembly and am missing a box of parts. Sorry.
  21. I've always thought AMT is missing out a chance by not adding variations on the 55-57 Chevy truck. I wouldn't mind seeing the 58 and on versions. The ones I want is the GMC trucks of the same years. It wouldn't require much in the way of additional tooling and it would give them a whole new line to reissue over the years.
  22. I used one of the 80s releases of this kit to build a stock truck. I used the bed from the amt 53 f100 because it is much closer to the real one. Does the ROth version include the stock parts and also does it have the small rear window? If so, I may have to get one.
  23. I think I saw a Jada one at Walmart a while back. It was listed as 1/24th, but like most of Jada's stuff it looked oversized.
  24. Yes, it's the Monogram Porsche flatnose Cabriolet. I got two of them off a Facebook page. It's turning out to be not as hard to remove the glue since y'all suggested using Iso Alcohol.
  25. I would like to get in on this as well. I have a kit that would fit the rules, except it's a curbside and a bit of a glue bomb. Would that be acceptable? If not, I'll look this weekend for another.
