Last year, I decided they would never be released, so I got on an eBay kick and ended up with three of the Gelandewagens when I came across them at good prices, a rally and two stock ones. Now I want the Landie and the Range Rover to go with them. Also the Audi to replace the Tamiya one I lost a long time ago!

I'm late to it, but I'd like to have a go with this VW Westfalia. I've been looking for a suitable subject and finally remembered I had two of these in storage. I did some online research today and it's a popular thing to re-power them with Subaru WRX engines. I probably won't do an actual engine since it is invisible in this vehicle.

I like your builds. They are so clean and realistic. They look like something from a museum display.

Even with 3D printing and CAD/CNC and whatever else comes along, there will always be a demand for craftsmen and particularly for high end, exclusive stuff. Any goober with money can go and buy a new Porsche 911, Ferrari, but to be thought really cool and tasteful by their peers, you've got to have a hand-built Troy Trepanier car, a Singer Porsche or a Derelict built by ICON or something. The same thing applies further down the line. If you've got the skills to do something different, you will find someone willing to pay for it. My teenager wants to be a blacksmith and farrier and he's already telling us how in demand that is.

I like the idea, but I quit watching prototype raining when they went full doofus on the body design. Bring on the cool style of the 80s GTP cars!

In the last week, I've seen three other Volvo V50s on my daily drive. I had begun to think I had the only one!

When I was little, my grandma ran a 5 & 10. She stocked those Palmer kits and so that's what I got for Christmas and birthdays for years. I loved them at the time because I rarely got models. Of course they weren't well designed, but a kid has lower standards. LOL

I've had this chronic disease for a long time but have been in recovery. LOL. I just recently suffered a relapse and bought a couple more Monogram curbside Porsche 911s, two of the Otaki Porsche 911s and an ESCI Porsche 934.

I really like this kit for nostalgic reasons but I never bought one because it was in that weird 'Fit The Box' scale. I love that they retooled it into 1/25 so it can be used with regular kits. Now if they will begin retooling all those other early kits and maybe continue retooling all the old parts and extras like they did with the '60 Chevy truck's go-kart.

I prefer IC engines, but hybrids seem to be a good alternative. One thing I don't get though is why they have both the IC engine and the motors hooked up to drive the vehicle. That seems needlessly complicated. Why not do them like trains and have the electric motors at the drive wheels running off a battery and a gas or diesel engine generator that only comes on to recharge the battery or when extra horsepower is needed. Full electric will only be an option when chargers are as common as gas stations and every home has a charger. Range is still a problem too.

My best friend in the Navy had one of these in Maroon and silver. It was old by then, but it was a neat car and it was tough! We'd take off to Ft. Walton Beach and hang out all the time. A lot of good memories attached to that car.

I always use Duplicolor for primers. They are much better than Krylon and Rustoleum and the price is about the same. They also offer filler and sandable primers and different colors which is handy.

I built models in the 70s through the 80s. The Monogram curbsides and MPCs annuals were always my favorites. eBay has been a boon for me buying the kits that I had back then. I love the Monograms because they were simple to build and survived being played with. The 911 was my favorite. I have bought and built a bunch in the last few years and have several more waiting to be built.

I didn't buy one when the stock version of the Mustang was out and now that I do want one, the drag version is the only one available. Does the drag version include the stock parts as well? Anyone?

I've heard that the F-250 rails were used, I remember when I looked at one at the dealer back when, one of the mechanics said the frames were from trucks designated for snow plow fitting. Not sure if that is the same.

Greg has a lot of good advice, I read through his stuff and learned a lot. I don't cast enough to buy a lot of RTV, mostly wheels tires or engines, so I usually go to Hobby Lobby and buy an Alumilite kit. I think they run around $30 for a kit big enough to do several small molds. With the 40% coupon, your looking at around $20 so it's a good way to start out. They have complete kits with mold material, casting resin and clay and also sell RTV or resin separately as well.

Really nice and a cool idea. When I was at Corry Station in Pensacola I would run the perimeter, 2 laps equaled 6 miles, and the Master at Arms guys used small trucks for patrol. I think their's had a light bar on top though.
