How to paint two colors?
Mike Kucaba replied to angelo7's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Paint the white, spray on a coat of clear, Let both cure well( smell it, if it smells of solvent it ain't cured) Mask off for the black, spray on another light coat of clear, then shoot the black. Multiple color paint works best when using either lacquers, or enamels and acrylics with a dehydrator. just my two pesos. -
I started this a few days ago and here are some of my observations of this kit, but first and foremost I want to thank Round 2 or whoever for re-issue of this kit AND the upgrade. So far I have noticed some flash. I'm sure the tool has been worked harder than a rented mule so that's expected. Looking at the general molding it is done very delicately. There are e-pin marks etc, but not bad.Locating and installing the rear pan is tough, there is no locating tabs which would help. The chrome is heavy and I've so far stripped some of the engine parts. A weird thing when cleaning up the valve covers was I looked at the engraved "SOHC" Instead it is "ZOHC"!? More to come, maybe some pics.

Looks good! There are a few little things that could be done, but overall it 's a beauty.

Mopar E-body small block headers.

A good set is in the '66 Chevy II (Nova) . -
Instead of that, why not try casting those in resin? Small stuff like that aren't that difficult. One mold might yield dozens of those.

The paint work on this looks stunning and so does the rest of it.

Yup! port spacing should be close enough. -
Nice build and great finish. Enjoyed the wip and inspired to work on the Freeman body I have.

Welcome and that paint set is great! Especially the sprayer item. With that, you can spray almost any properly thinned paint. Warm the can(warm not HOT) and DON'T shake the can while spraying. Start with solid, not metallic colors, and maybe acrylics.

I got drawers full of the small "goodies" that came in the kits back in the day. Most times they were on tables at shows and would buy what was available. I think every kit came with some goody.

Just a FYI I checked my source about my post and the article I quoted said there were only 10 cars done initially by Amblewagen. -

Because we're all conspiracy nuts We're also all bozo's on this bus -
You probably have a very good eye, but everything looks different to everyone. After seeing what someone does with photo overlaying, I wouldn't trust my eyes. I'm interested in the thread you mentioned, hope you find it.

Mike Kucaba replied to Yentl's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Hmmm... I thought that the idea behind this subscription buying was to alleviate the pain of the high cost at one time, and that the parts were already made, cast, whatever. This is risky if a principal in the mix suddenly checks out. -

They could sell off some of that and hire a couple of the BEST engineers in the world and fix the ignition switch woes. -
"Names on Jerseys Come & Go, but Loyal Bear Fans Always Show" This was a slogan in Chi-town during the great NFL strike many years ago.. I guess with some music fans it don't matter either. I don't know about other players in CHICAGO but one killed himself many years ago. Not a horn player though.
