  1. I've sprayed lacquer over acrylics. Automotive PPG thinned with PPG thinner and airbrushed. You might try a spoon test of the aerosol clear lacquer you end up with over a well cured tamiya acrylic.
  2. Looks good. More tire needed in wheel well
  3. Read all his articles over the years while in SAE (before there was MCM ) I didn't even build trucks but there was always some nugget of info. I think I sold him some truck kits or parts too.
  4. Well, I don't know where"in the middle" is so I don't know your climate. Here in AZ as I understand it you generate electricity and what you don't use you sell back to the utility. On days when your personal use exceeds your ability to generate ,the utility picks up the slack, and your charged for that. I visited here in 2000 and was surprised that there wasn't more solar. Now that I lived here since 2008 I'm stunned! IT must be a conspiracy!!
  5. Yes , They are. I've waited a few months too, but this is a one man operation. Have you been in contact with who you ordered from? And before anyone jumps the shark... This is not a critical barb against HRM or anyone that sells their items...It's just the way it is.
  6. Machinists use something called a "dapping block", nothing more than a steel block with shallow divots machined in to it. Basically you would need a shallow circular well and a matching punch that you would form the screen. hardwood would work for the block and any thing that would form the shape would do for the punch. I'd get the finest brass mesh you find and have at it.
  7. I'll throw out that the 427 in the Revell parts pack isn't too shabby. Should be easy enough to source.
  8. This work you have been showing defies description !! Fantastic barely covers it! Great Stuff.
  9. Roger that!! I has a aneurysm of the aorta in 2008 right here in AZ. I thought it was a really bad back spasm. Had my brother take me to the nearest ER after what seemed days And after a lot of pain & tests they came back and said I had a aneurysm of the aorta and it was thoracic and abdominal and was dissecting. This condition was too much for this hospital and I was carted off to another. It was too vast to operate so they just loaded me up with medication and I came thru so far. I had to get alot of CT scans for many years eventually tapering off. I'm glad your Mom made it out okay. Time is of the essence with this disorder.
  10. Man Harry, it seems like you get out of the wrong side of the bed every other day
  11. Looks like my cousin's garage here in Glendale. Has Logghe tube chassis sitting in there like forever. It's set up for a '33 Willys.
  12. I've read where you combine the '66 with the chassis from the '65.
  13. "I get nervous about holding someone else's money for too long." the solution there is to spend it fast, then leave town! Seriously, the Caprice/impala has the most potential. Cast and sell those for a start, and possibly make them a little less detailed, or a different year than what MH is offering. The Bus should be offered, Just don't know how and at what price. If it does get to some sort of production make sure they are available on the 4th wednesday of the month "If you cast it,they will buy"
  14. Beautiful work and a reminder of why AMT/ertl/RC2 SHOULD have kitted this instead of that Edsel.
  15. I'll wait for the movie
  16. Here's a trick. Get some modeling clay and push an amount inside the body where the firewall would be. Make it thick and don't worry about being neat. Put everything in the freezer and when hard try an remove it without distorting it too much. Slice off until you have a useable profile. HTH
  17. Hi Bill, I sent you a PM.
  18. I think she needs a little more oil
  19. I have a set of those that I can snip off the tree if you need them. They really don't look that big though. Isn't there any Webers in 1/24th? How About 1/18th-1/20th.
  20. MAN Ken, is there anything you can't make That looks fantastic. I don't know where your going with this but I'm in whatever transpires,
  21. As I recall, The '64 Falcon didn't have much,Just a large graphic on the door?. Got to see him run this car against the wedge '64 Plymouth "LAWMAN" in '64 at U.S. 30 in Dyersville. Fred may have retired, but it seems MSMITEYMOUSE & RGRAVELY have a pretty consistent supply. They are on Ebay.
  22. The Polysphere 318 has some unusual scalloping of the valve covers.
