Perfect . Thanks much for the correct info !

These are the same folks whom put {{ GASP ! }} ice in their soft drinks ! Haha . The band Demented Are Go ! were staying at a friend's house while they were on a short U.S. tour . It was summer and hotter than ____________ . The lead singer , "Sparky" , asked if my friend had a pop . My friend obliged , bringing him a Coke in a glass with ice cubes . Sparky said , "What's this bollocks ? Why'd you put ice in it ?" . My friend had no clue about the no-ice-in-an-otherwise-cold-drink thing ! Haha !

Other than the stock Chrysler straight-8 , what options are there ? I didn't see anything on the parts' layout on the box's bottom which would indicate / allude to an optional engine .

From all of my experiences , items from Japan are packaged perfectly . Even items bough in their shops are packaged like they're going to be shipped-off ! My friend brought a Maneki Neko statuette back from Tokyo ; he bought it at one of the stores there as a gift for me ( I love that iconic talisman ! ) . When he gave it to me , the box was 110% perfect , with not so much as a blemished corner ! I asked him if he had it shipped to his home ( Long Beach , Ca. ) , and he said , "No ! That's how the package was off the shelf ! " . Same thing with some items he bought in Seoul a few years ago --- absolutely perfect .

The Tri-Power ( three 2 barrel carburetors ) option disappeared after '66 , making that Pontiac in the Bonneville a phantom . The only vehicles in the States to have multiple-carburetors after 1966 were the Corvette (through 1969 model year) , the 440 Maximum Performance Chrysler (1969-1972 ) , the 340 "T/A" ( Trans Am ) for the 1970 Challenger T/A and the AAR 'Cuda , the 426 Hemi (1964-1971) , and the Ford and Mercury 428 (1967-1968) .

foil-casting, what brand do you use?
1972coronet replied to fiatboy's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I'd been using the clear epoxies , mixing the resin-catalyst mix with the provided plastic stick . I mix it like I'm mixing plastic or polyester filler for use on metal --- or like mixing JB Weld --- scoop-mix-twirl . I'll have to try the coloured epoxy ; that clear stuff is kinda like a guessing game . -
I love the 1968 Beaumont tail lamps , as they seem to flow nicer with the lines of the Chevelle's hindquarters . The Beaumonts actually used Pontiac Le Mans dashboards , too ... maybe upholstery , too (?) . S.D. ( Sport Deluxe ) 396 or a Cheetah 427 ( Centre Chevrolet of London , Ontario , IIRC ) sold the latter .

foil-casting, what brand do you use?
1972coronet replied to fiatboy's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I definitely use the shiny-side-out . I was thinking of lightly-scuffing the adhesive-to-be-applied-to-side with an old toothbrush (dry , of course... and completely free of paste , etc. ) . I'll have to try the 2-part epoxy again . I'm certain at this point that I haven't mixed it enough ---- I suppose that I'm "afraid" of it setting before I get to employ it . Thanks again . -
I've purchased from his eBay page quite a few times. Let me put the link here : https://www.ebay.com/sch/bestmodelcarparts/m.html?item=193529934108&hash=item2d0f48711c%3Ag%3AK60AAOSwRsJemO9g&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562 If this falls into the "No Active eBay Listings" rule , please feel free to remove it . It's for reference-only ; NOT my listing .

That kit -- in its latest iteration -- is in my stash . Nice to see a wonderful example of how nice the kit's interior can be . Are the printed instruments from an aftermarket supplier ?

foil-casting, what brand do you use?

I've tried the "fool-proof" ( haha ) epoxies -- the one which exudes equal-portions of catalyst-to-resin -- and still gatz ! I know what you mean regarding cleanliness on both surfaces ; that begs the question : would it be beneficial to scuff the to-be-epoxied-side of the foil ? Something that seems so elementary and basic is somehow elusive to me ! Haha . Thanks much , Peter @peteski ! -
Gorgeous coupe ! Excellent craftsmanship on the conversion from hardtop-to-coupe ; from 1967-to-1966 .

Looks great , George ! Is that the AMT '68 Z-28 interior ?

Thanks much . I've got both --- I'll attempt the elusive foil-impression badges some day... -
foil-casting, what brand do you use?
1972coronet replied to fiatboy's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
The emblem never comes out properly ; too-shallow ( even though I use cotton swabs to gently-press the foil into the recesses ) , or the glue doesn't properly catalyse ; too fragile , and rip when I'm attempting to trim-away the excess foil . I don't know why this ages-old technique has never worked favourably for me . I've tried different epoxies ; I've tried CA glue ; I've tried the UV-activated adhesives ---- nothing . Last set of emblems I'd attempted were from a 1973-1974 MPC Duster ; I wanted the Duster emblems from the front fenders and the tail lamp panel . Is there a 'How To' around here ? -

foil-casting, what brand do you use?
1972coronet replied to fiatboy's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I've never been successful with foil-impression castings . I've tried everything from quick-set two-part clear epoxy to CA glue with baking soda applied soon as the CA glue was instilled --- never a successful casting . I've even tried the UV-light-activated stuff with no luck . Is there an epoxy that's NOT a two-part compound ? Seems like I mix that type either too hot or too cool . -
A few new Round 2 kit coming out ......
1972coronet replied to Mr mopar's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Does that AMT 1972 Jimmy have two engine choices ? Maybe I'm thinking of their pickup kits ; a 350 and a Mark IV , if I remember correctly . -
I don't actually speak it (though I wish that I could) . It's part of my heritage ( half-Welsh ; quarter-Scots ; quarter-Irish ) , and those Celtic languages fascinate me --- a mix of Old Latin and Nørse . John Cale ( Velvet Underground , etc. ) and Tom Jones are Welsh... you can hear it in their accent ( Cale's first language is Welsh ; English is his secondary-language ) . Keep up the great work ! Duw a Ddarpar i'r Brain !

The looks like a Windsor-based intake . That can't be an FE-Series engine ; those engines ( 352-360-390-406-427-428 ) have the rocker arms covers "overlapping" the intake manifold .
