I love the BBS "lace" (et alia) rims, too. Very popular in the 1980s, esp. on the German models (BMW, predominately). There were a few '60's and '70's American cars with them , too. Classy look.

1972 Swinger ( LH23G2B307811 ) which I bought for $800 in August 1989. Factory EV2 Hemi Orange , white interior; 318 / 904 , and a host of options. Eventually its 318 was rebuilt and upgraded : 340/360 'J' heads; 9.5:1 (static) pistons, cam with more lift and longer-than-stock duration (nothing wild) , 360 two barrel intake with a 2 Bbl. carb from a '72 400 ; headers (lots of fun to install !) with provision for the "cold start" heat riser. 904 was rebuilt with heavy duty everything; deeper capacity oil pan; Trans-Go shift kit , too. Rear diff was out of a '74 Duster 360 I found in the salvage yard ( oh, just to imagine what that car - in that condition - would bring today ! ), which was equipped with 3.21 / Sure Grip. Upgraded the brakes - the factory 4 piston setup was trouble prone , and rotors were obsolete ! A '75 Dart gave its superior single piston calipres and other necessary wares to the cause.

I second the Tamiya aerosols . The aforementioned Gloss Aluminum is sans metallic ; however, Tamiya's Pearl Clear or Metallic Clear work great to represent a realistic, in-scale metallic finish.

The lack of brake calipres -complete, rebuilt - is definitely a headscratcher. I wonder if its the piston bore size ? Are the same calipres for the 1983-1986 ; 1987-1988 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe ? Same 2,3 litre turbo engine, on the same platform... Absolutely - within reason, of course. I've seen a '72 Polara Washing State Police model with a power seat and some other "regular" Polara appointments. All of its Fleet Codes were separate ; itemised - two tags worth. Its V.I.N. was , IIRC, DL41U2D vs. the Police models' DK prefix.

I agree completely. A good walk warms up the ol' vacuum tubes in (what's left of) my brain - gets the ol' vision up, and kicks-up my hearing .

Sweet find ! Love the vintage licence plates, too (can you keep those as legal, on-highway plates ?). The 16" rims are slick for these. Less expensive than buying those Michelin 390mm TRX tyres !

I've seen that car in person a few times ( at a Chrysler show in Van Nuys ) , and for whatever reason, I didn't remember its blue interior ( haha ). Hopefully it'll be there in May - I haven't seen it in a few years. [ BTW , I didn't post that info in an attempt to bust your chops or anything ]

I must say that the blue interior surprises me - I've only seen tan / brown. Even the factory brochure exhibits tan as standard, with other, "regular" Polara interior as an option :

I just bought an open-but--complete Revell 1997 (released in 1995 or 1996) F-150 , and its wipers are missing (some parts were off the sprue / tree - the wipers simply aren't in the box ). I'm not sure how many times this (excellent) kit was reissued / updated, nor am I aware of how long ago it was last issued. At any rate ; let me know what you have. Thanks !

[ deleted per the request of the administrators ] - Pesky, inferior decals ( too thick ; too glossy ; prone to tearing and/or folding ) - Items that are a P.I.T.A. to correct via my lack of proper tools - My hit-and-miss skills, esp. after 50 years of practising . Now, if you'll excuse me, that silver Testors paint I applied back in 1986 is finally cured.

I resemble that remark ! Factor in my "can't see nuthin' !" vision , and it gets even worse.

I recently acquired an AMT 1995 Ranger kit , and am wondering what colour the block and heads are. I've seen grey ( rocker covers and oil pan at least ) and black ( same items ; mainly the Windsor series ) . I realise that 97.32% of the engine is covered-up - I'm still wanting to paint it at least 84.02 % correctly. Thanks / Arigato / Danke / Merci / Diolch

One of the funniest to hear and observe hissing , is when a Cougar kitten does it. Not only a tame-sounding hiss, but also spitting and pouncing !

Shifter's different ; it's either a Verti-Gate or a Ram Rod . Appears to have linelock, too.
