  1. Hopefully nothing serious.
  2. Sounds like a classic college boy move -- something that reared its ugly head in the 1980's. Now, isn't it true that numbers and/or acronyms cannot be copyrighted? To me it seems that 'GMC' is truly an acronym, and that 'C1500' is merely a letter followed by four numbers (okay, I'm not sure about the latter).
  3. 1990 CHEVY C/K 1500 SILVERADO 350 SS MATCHING NUMBERS 350SS TRUCK NOT A CLONE for sale: photos, technical specifications, description (topclassiccarsforsale.com) To clarify the nomenclature of this - and its 454-powered relative - C1500: the SS was placed after the engine displacement designation; e.g. "350-SS" and "454-SS". A distinction with a difference.
  4. As I understand it, the AMT 1940 Plymouth Coupe was created as part of an agreement (likely, contractual) with Richard Petty, et al., when AMT wanted to model his then-current Pontiac Stock Car. I can't imagine that AMT - or anyone - would've gone through the trouble of R&D of a 1/25 scale Plymouth Coupe on their own volition.
  5. Which Blank Generation itself was a "ripoff" of Beat Generation by Bob McFadden & Rod McKuen from 1959. I love Hell's spoof of a spoof song -- I like the Heartbreakers demo (Yonkers Demos 1975-1976) even more than the Voidoids 1977 album cut.
  6. The lack of Krylon seems to at least partly explain all of the crummy, "T.O.Y.S." graffiti around these days.
  7. Into The Void is indeed on Master of Reality [1971]. All of their albums are great through Sabotage, IMO. Technical Ecstasy has a couple of good tunes on it, but over-all it pales in comparison to their 1969-1975 sound. OTOH, I dig the album artwork for Ecstasy. Another far out piece by Hipgnosis.
  8. One of my favourite "ripoff" movements is 1969 (Stooges) whose instrumental is borrowed from the 'middle 8' in Tribal Gathering (Byrds). Ron Asheton of The Stooges admitted that "...Gathering" was thee influence on 1969, as Asheton was a huge fan of The Byrds.
  9. There was a 350-SS version as well, available concurrently with the 454-SS.
  10. Nice clean build-up of that Moussetang! Unlike that godawful New programme went the way of Micro Machines and Diners' Club, the kit has redeeming value -- and yours is a perfect representation.
  11. I love how that song just comes blasting-in on Sabotage! The entire album rules like Kung Fu! I'm especially fond of the outro to Symptom of the Universe.
  12. An arcane reference which I still use to this day (what, 30 years later?).
  13. Thanks much for the photos and descriptions! So many sweet kits coming along! - 1968 GTO. What can I say? We haven't had a 'real' 1968 GTO since.. 1968? I'm feeling Starlight Black with red interior! - 1965 GTO. At last! The roof is moulded with the body! Those hubcaps look GREAT! - 1965 Time Machine Chevelle. Great to see this Freak back in the mix! - Datsun Pickup. That'll be an excellent companion to the stock 1977 annual kit I've got. - 1968 Coronet R/T Convertible. Long... Time... Coming. Its interior looks fantastique! Delightful engraving on those separate door cards! (Now, do I wish that a correct brake master cylinder was added in place of the 1966 & earlier version? Yes. However, it's an easy enough chop-off-and-correct modification, so... no complaints.) - 2021/2022/2023 Ante-Sub-Sequitur Charger. That chassis and suspension assembly is - dare I say - Tamiya quality! WOW! **[EDIT]** - 2022 [?] Bronco. I'm so pleased to see a new subject (along with the Charger) being kitted again (the Camaro was, what, 2015?). Its interior detail looks exquisite! Removable top really gives a bird's eye poo view of the intricate details and engraving. BRAVO!
  14. I'm 52. I've long had a preference for Psychedelia, Hard Rock (I consider Johnny Thunders' Heartbreakers to be hard and fast traditional Rock), and Experimental.
  15. "Longer 'an you been alive.", said Jackie Brown as he shut the truck of the Curious Yellow 1971 Road Runner
  16. Was the bench seat only in the 1978 2WD annual? I have a mint unbuilt '78 annual - never noticed the odd proportions of the bench (maybe 'cause I was 8 when I built the original). IIRC, that '78 2WD has the Scottsdale trim, which was between the Custom Deluxe and Cheyanne trim levels. I, too, would take a bench vs. buckets any day in a pickup (I'm a fan of spartan, base model appointments: rubber mats and vinyl seats). At least an option for both would be welcomed.
  17. I'd love to see a Geo Metro kitted, even if it's promo-style. heck, a full-detail (okay, a spank better'an promo) would be even better! Make that rascal a 2-in-1: stock putter, or a full-out custom with a mid-mount LT-1 (the original) or something outrageous. While I never cared for the Storm, I know that a lot of folks would buy one or five for the nostalgia.
  18. 1967 Top of the Pops
  19. Tough to narrow to three... Let's see here...
  20. That's too bad. I'm not alone in not only wanting for them, but am also willing to pay a relative premium for a kit with them (e.g., the pending K-10/K-15 pickups). Thanks for your reply.
  21. Delightful colour on a wonderful build! Is that over primer or a base colour? If so, what colour primer, what colour base? Thanks.
  22. Thanks for the info. I should've looked for 'XS-34' instead my just guessing/hoping.
  23. How about some adhesive '3D' emblems such as those included in the Tamiya kits? That would solve the engraving issue.
  24. At the risk of my further derailing of the original topic: if I could go back in time and order a new '69 Chevelle, I'd specify a COPO 427 in 300 Deluxe trim.
